I'm not sure what you mean by a feeling that your head is "tied." Or that you can't think of anything. But it sounds like you may be feeling depressed, or may have something else going on which you may want to get some medical or psychological help for.

But maybe the best place to start is to see what you can do, on your own, to help yourself. Do you exercise? It can benefit you in very many ways... physically, mentally, and emotionally. Do you eat well... making sure to get plenty of fruits and vegetables in your diet every day, and not overdoing the fats and sweets? How about sleep... do you get enough? And sunshine... it's good for you, emotionally; just use sunscreen. Also try to make sure you get some relaxation into every day, and laugh and play, too. Do things you love to do, periodically, for no other reason than you love them and they make you happy.

How are your relationships with husband (questionable, judging from another of your questions), parents, children (if any), other family, friends, co-workers?

Are you happy at home? Do you like where you live and what is in your home, and the way it's arranged? Do you have enough space?

Do you have a sense of meeting your goals in life? Do you *have* goals? What would you like to do before your final day?

Do you have any hobbies, or pastimes? Some kind of creative outlet?

Do you expose yourself to pleasant sights and sounds... maybe music, movies, travel? Good foods and other sensual pleasures?

Do you like who you are? Does your self esteem need any work? (You mentioned you feel "ugly," which is kind of a clue.) Are you carrying any bad feelings around all the time, such as guilt, shame, sadness, anger, fear...? Is there something specific on your mind a lot; something keeping you from being happy and at peace? These are the kinds of things a psychologist, psychiatrist, social worker or other counselor can help you with.

There may be physical and/or emotional issues which are getting in the way of your ability to think clearly. I'd consider seeing your family doctor, who could recommend a mental health professional if he/she thinks you may benefit from one. Or you can check out my links. If it is a mental health issue, please don't hesitate for fear of what this might "mean" about you. Don't deny yourself happiness and health for superficial reasons. Believe me, they are attainable, and you will thank yourself for whatever you do to improve your life.

And don't give up, as many people seem to, if you don't connect with your first counselor in a way that feels comfortable and helpful to you. Not everyone will be right for you; but finding one that is might be the best thing you ever do for yourself, and probably won't take more than two or three tries. I honestly believe the *majority* of people could benefit from at least a few sessions with a good therapist, in ways they don't even realize until they go.

You might even start with some self-help books, which you can find in any good book store. Browse the titles to see if any seem to apply to you.

It's really hard to know what is bothering you, going on what little you posted. But if you can't help yourself, or don't know how, just know that you are not alone, and there is plenty of help available.

Best wishes
