WIne in moderation is good for you; Iwouldn't worry too much about which type.

But red wine does have resveratrol which has supposedely anti-fungal, anti-cancer, anti-aging properties which come from the skins of red grapes. see - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resveratrol on it

A couple of years ago it was perporte dthat Merlot wines from Chile had the highest levels of resveratrol, but I'd think that can depend on vintage

Just drink what tastes good to you. The health effects are from the tanins in the red grapes that the wine is made from. No red wine is particularly more healthy than another.

As long as its red, the kind is rather unimportant. All reds have more of the good stuff (I forgot what its actually called) than whites.
