Given that racial disharmony and ethnic conflict have been responsible for ten of millions of deaths in the last hundred years, espousing these views is as dangerous as waving a gun around. Maybe they should be treated the same way? And no "free speech" talk, please. People don't want freedom from the state, they want protection.

Racism cannot be eliminated by executions. Only through education can those racists be made to realise their inappropriate attitude towards other human beings! We must also aim at establishing states and nations without religions influencing the governments. As a part of reforms, the United Nations should establish a cell to promot secularism all around the world! With such and maybe other positive steps, rather than execution, racism should be a thing of the past in the next half a century or so! Let us not commit a crime to eliminate a crime!

Eh, no. But, we should always do our best to combat it.

I have to say, I know that I am inherently racist. What I mean by that, is that, I know I have been raised in a culture that has a long history of racism. As a result, some of the ways I perceive things (i.e. things that I find humorous or unusual) are very suspect at least, if not actually racist

I'm not saying I'm a biggot, just that I am aware of my problem. I hate to be offencive to anyone because of race or sex, etc. I'm probably one of those awful PC liberals that everybody seems to hate these days.

No, we don't want to kill people: just raise the level of awareness.

You are crazy. Protection from having their feelings hurt? So if I do not marry a white woman because I like to marry a black woman, and for her to give birth to our black babies, does that make me a racist? And must I therefore be shot?

Your criteria is as ridiclious as your solution. The majority of racial violence, especially in America, was political in motivation, and used race as the justification. The KKK was the terrorist arm of the democrat party, and workde through violence to stop black from gaining political power in the south during reconstruction. The motivation was political, and the excuse was racism.

I think you need to better understand the issue of racism, and the underpinings of racism, before you reccomend draconian solutions to racism. People in glass houses should not throw stones.

Uh, the entire argument is based on free speech. No one can force me to "like" or "accept" a particular group. If I choose not to like a group, for ANY reason, that is my business and it isn't any of yours.

And who decides what is "racist" and what isn't? And why only racism? What about sexism, homophobia, and religious disharmony? How does one note that someone is a Jew, Christian, or Muslim? Do we all start wearing patches with our ethnicity, sexual orientation, and religion etched on them?

No more than black people should be set on fire or dragged along the road behind your pick up truck.
A violent, uncivilised society protects no one. When that violence comes from the state, you have a fascist dictatorship in control.
The death penalty does not deter violent crime. What makes you think it will turn people into civilised, thinking humans?

Who decides what is racist? We would have to kill all those who were Anti American or Anti Muslim....pretty much have to kill everyone, each of us has views that offend another group.

So would you let someone live who call someone a fat b+£@!d, while executing someone who call a person a french b+@~d?

Death penalty should be reserved for serial killers and those who murder children. A life for a life.

no, and "free speech talk" is exactly what you are talking about. there are dangers in a free society. the things some people believe, freely, may not be mainstream, or even civil, unfortunately, some people use their freedom to spread hate. it takes wisdom, discretion, and self control on everyone's part.

Your theory that racial divide has caused "tens of millions" of deaths is completely flawed. EVERY major war since the beginning of time (Vietnam and Korea were not "wars" they were "conflicts") has been fought over RELIGION.

Religion kills people.

no, this is a stupid question. and everyone agreeing with you has no intelligence. if people were executed for freedom of speech which could be used for racism and making fun of way people choose to live their lives, there will be no people on earth except monks who took a vow of silence.

I hate racists, but killing them is a bit harsh... even by my far right standards!!! How about a public stoning instead.... hanging them out in stocks, humilation generally works well for bullies which is all these cowards are no matter what their colour.
