Some states charge for records checks. Some county courts charge for information about court cases. Some post convictions on line (especially sex offenses.) Last time I checked, you had to pay $6.00 to Colorado for each name checked, but you could get Florida and Georgia court records for free (you have to know the county).

Have you tried putting that person's name into your Yahoo browser? Sometimes that yields surprising information, but only if his name is relatively uncommon. Please make sure that the information you get is actually about that person -- not someone else with the same name.

Ways to screen out the numerous answers (if you get numerous answers.) (a) put in a state and maybe a city. (b) put in the person's spouse, i.e. Jessica Jaidinger John. (c) put in the person's employer or maiden name or organization you know he is affiliated with.

Don't forget to check with the Secretary of State for information about any corporations or LLC's he might be officer of agent of. Usually that is free or only costs a couple of dollars.

search the states circuit court records online. fbi.gov will not help

the best way to do it is to go to your states court docket. if you run a search for it you will find it. especially for sex offenders.
