are you kidding??? i have never been to china but don't they want their privacy when they are in the rest room...i guess we learn something knew everyday but this i do have no understanding of..i would not want to use a restroom that did not have doors and my privacy...maybe they are just different than we are in more ways than i thought...

At my last visit in China this year, all the toilets had doors, but not all toilets had seats and lids.
It is significantly more hygienic not to sit but to hover over the hole where your excrements will go. Sit down toilets are mostly used by tourists.

First off, those are called LIDS. And the answer is because Chinese people just squat over holes in the floor. You should ask why don't Chinese bathrooms have toilets?

maybe you havn't been to China in a while, or u just went o a bad part of China
I was in China 2 years ago
their hotels and other places are WAYYYY better than any hotel in America
