Reina, spiritual growth is done in many ways, but the way that I grow is in staying sensitive to others needs and hurts. When you read the Bible, pray, and go to church you gain insight into preparing yourself to do works for the Lord. This is called equipping the saints. But until you gain sensitivity to others and a real desire to help others in any way you can, growth is stifled and you stagnate as a Christian. Real growth is discovering the needs of others and then trying to meet those needs.
You have to be careful though, because as you try to meet the needs of others you can be hurt. Yet we do this in response to a Christ like walk, even though we gain nothing of worldly value out of it. Growth comes when you are doing what God leads you to do without consideration of what you will get out of it. Come to think of it, isn't that the real message and meaning of love? Doing for others with no thought of what you will get in return.

It's an ongoing process using Prayer & Formation
Prayer: Spend time alone talking to and listening to God. Use whatever works for you. I use "canned" prayers and spontaneous, and then just let go of myself and listen.
Formation: Read scripture & spiritual books, listen to spiritual/christian music, get into discussions with people that have spiritual inclinations. Making retreats are great, too.

Develop relationships with folks who can support you spiritually. a million Corinthians 15:33 tells us, “Do no longer be misled: ‘Bad enterprise corrupts well individual.’” The Bible is filled with warnings approximately the have an effect on “dangerous” folks could have on us. Spending time with individuals who have interaction in sinful pursuits will intent us to be tempted by way of the ones pursuits. The individual of the ones we're round will “rub off” on us. That is why it's so major to enclose ourselves with different folks who love the Lord and are dedicated to Him. Try to discover a buddy or 2, possibly out of your church, who can support you and inspire you (Hebrews three:thirteen; 10:24). Ask your peers to hold you liable in regard on your quiet time, your pursuits, and your stroll with God. Ask if you'll be able to do the equal for them. This does no longer imply you ought to stop all of your peers who have no idea the Lord Jesus as their Savior. Continue to be their buddy and love them. Simply allow them to realize that Jesus has modified your lifestyles and also you are not able to do all of the equal matters you used to do. Ask God to provide you possibilities to percentage Jesus together with your peers.

It's up to you entirely - you can't have someone do it for you - listening to a Preacher/Priest/Rabbi will not make you anymore spiritual, going to a Church doesn't do it either - it's what's in your heart, how you treat others...
People use God for bizarre reasons, mainly justifications for hate, for war... They pick & choose which parts of the Bible apply to them...
Life has a lot of difficult questions, but common sense will always lead you to the answer. Not what someone said 2000+ years ago....

Get into His Word. Read your word. I recommend taking a Hermenutics class. it did wonders for my study of the Bible. Also fellowship with other Christians. Have bible studies, book clubs, etc. Pray for closeness and discernment to hear God.

1)Pray-just pray and just be able to talk to God. Always make him your first priority. If you have something on your mind just talk to God and he'll just listen and the holy spirit can comfort you etc.
2)Read the bible-read read read. just read the bible. dont read the bible looking for a specific thing. just try to look for what God is trying to tell you through that particular chapter/verse etc.
3)go to a church-support and bible studies groups and just church services can really get you to know him more etc.
hope that helps.

Through prayer, scripture study and then pondering those scriptures. Also by pondering the concepts of teachers and other "spiritual giants".
