Hire a pet sitter. It will be much less stressful on your cat if it gets to remain at home.
Everytime I'm away for more than 2 days I hire one (I believe asking a friend or family to take care of them for longer than that is too much of a burden.) They will come into your home, freshen your cat's water and food, then usually stay for 30mins. to an hour and play/cuddle with your cat. When I get back home, my cats usually could care less since they barely noticed I was gone!

either will work, but i suggest that you either hire a service to come feed your cats or if there are any teens in the area hire them to feed your cat. the cat will be more comfortable in his or her normal surroundings and it would be as stressful as leaving them in a cattery that they don't know. if you decide to put him or her in a cattery it might be a good idea to have you cat stay one or two nights before you go on your trip so that your cat can get a feel for the space and you can make sure you cat will be ok and that you are comfortable with the cattery and the care your cat will get. also you might want to look for a cattery that has large spaces for the cats not just a crate some places call these "condos" and allow the cat to be able to move around inside them, some places also have times during the day when the caregivers take the cats out one by one and play with them and love them, which is very good and helps your cat
whatever you decide i hope you and your cat are happy and i hope you have fun on vacation

Two weeks is a very long time to have your cat in a cattery. Would you like to be in a cage in a strange place for 2 weeks? I boarded my cat recently and she became so stressed out from the experience that she became sick.
From now on, I will have someone come in to take care of her. My vet reccommended a woman in my area that does pet sitting. She is a licensed veterinary technician who has a pet sitting business as well. Since she used to work for the vet, they trust her. Maybe your vet could reccommend someone. If not, could a friend or neighbor come by? Just from my own experience, one of those is probably your best option. Don't do the cattery unless you have no other option.

Im going on holiday and was worrying about the same thing untill my sister said she would spend the week in my house. I felt more happier knowing my cats wouldnt be so stressed out as its someone they know who will be here all the time with them. Do you know of anyone like a family member to do this?? you could pay them in grocery shopping for a week and a little cash. This is what i have done and my sister is happy with the arrangement

have a cat sitting service come and take care of her.
letting her stay in her own territory will decrease her stress level.
make sure to ask for one sitter regularly and have her come and meet the cat a few times before you go on your vacation, it will the cat be more comfortable with her sitter.

I would always plump for a friend/family member or an accredited pet sitter

put her in the cattery as you know she will be looked after and you will not have to worry about the sitter not appearing?

To be honest I would only use any of these if you are stuck (then probably cattery), do you not have a friend or relative who can sit.

Staying at home would be a lot less stressful for your cat...!! Your cat will assume you're coming home eventually, but if you leave it in some strange place, it may think you've abondoned it !!
