The only thing I found that helped at all was to eat Tums on a very regular basis. They can also give you something for the pain, but it will probably put you to sleep. I was pregnant when I started having attacks. Finally after waiting 5 months and having numerous attacks, my gallbladder was removed. The Tums seemed to help keep me from having as many attacks.

Avoid fatty foods to prevent the onset of an attack - once the attack is on, there isn't much you can do but breathing techniques like lamaze (lamaze works for all kinds of pain not just labor!)

My friend said that when she started feeling like she was going to get an attack, she would drink a lot of soda that would make her burp like crazy and it would ward off the attack.

Try short quick breaths - like fast panting.
I'm not sure if it will work, but I find it really works for stomach pain. So woth a shot.
