Ignore her and start flirting with other people so you can show her that she can't ruin your game by doing something that low. Don't talk to her about it unless you're telling her it was mean cuz a person who does that is a b-tch and doesn't deserve time of day.

She's definitely thrilled that she's been asked out by a guy just like all girls are. Girls when thrilled usually immediately tell all their closest girlfriends but there are also who don't. The question how and what did she tell her friends? Was it in a way that would humiliate you? Maybe she just didn't know how to react and just made a joker face sort of thing when you asked her. Eventhough it sounds mean and embarassing as you put it but then there are so many things that could explain why. Chin up! :-)

Laugh it off and be thankful you had such a narrow escape. Be glad that when you do find some one they would almost have to be a step up from her.

let her be, dont react, i know you might feel a bit donkey (yep, iv being there, most weekends) but its all about show at this point, if she/they see you to be embarist in any way they will play on that, there might not be anything in it but you might take it to heart, please dont, just let it pass by, its ok to be anyoed and angry but dont show them that, theres not point.
