How come religious People protest Abortion so much but you never see them try to stop other crazy religious people from refusing thier children medical treatment because of thier beliefs. I work at a hospital and we see parents tell the doctors not to do anything to a 6 year old who was in a car accident and is dying and these people say that its in Gods hands now....So isn't that just as messed up as Abortion is? I mean your killing a child who can't choose for himself...because technically parents have the say till ur 18.

Apparently some idiots didn't read my question...First off I don't care what you think of Abortion...Secondly there are Real religious Groups out there that refuse treatment to thier children...and only in some states can the Dr.Over ride the wishes of the parents..

I share your frustration with this dichotomy. For instance, some religious terrorists rant and rave about the sanctity of the unborn - yet, are in no way concerned about social justice issue, ie., children born into poverty, children with absentee parents or negligent parents. Is there an answer to this question: only this, never sell the ignorance of some humans short. The world is far more complicated than reducing all of life to single knee jerk hot button issues: abortion, gay marriage, drug abuse...and the list goes on.

Some people believe that eternal life through their Savior is better than a few years on earth listening to people set upon taking the rights of others away.
The real scary part is that there are so many people such as yourself that believe that you know more than the parents of the child.
For example if you were terminal and the choice of sustaining your life or of letting you go had to be made would you want to make it, have your parents make it, or have the law make it?
I think it is my decision, or my parents. If it is the states decision, how can you believe that it will be made by a sane person?

We can look at it in 2 ways
The morality factor
If the parents can afford to have the child and ensure that child gets proper education, food, shelter and most of all parental love - yes there should be no reason for abortion.
Abortion
If the mother is at risk on delivery, if the parents are not ready or if they cannot afford to have - it's better to abort than let that innocent kid suffer and become a murderer or a socially unacceptable person.
But Personally, I would not say yes to abortion.

Is that common? (that religious parents tell the doctors not to save their childrens' lives?) I can imagine it happening, but I would be very surprised to find that it is common.
That being said, there is certainly no consistent pro-life stance among the anti-abortionists. I think that a large part of the problem is that they have become confused by the anti-abortion movement's insistence on treating everything down to a single fertilized egg as though it were a real human being. That core tenet of the anti-abortion movement inevitably devalues human life, as does the belief in life after death. I do think that we as human beings have a natural sense of the value of life, but the anti-abortion movement has done quite a bit to reduce that value of life among its participants.

I guess there is extreme ignorance on both sides of this argument. Really it is two separate issues. It is wrong to kill a baby because you think you have a right to, it is also wrong to deny a child medical attention because you are an ignorant parent.
I would not allow abortion just because some idiot does not want medical help for their child.
I understand your frustration towards the ignorant parents-but don't take it out on those fighting to save equally innnocent babies from abortionist. Strike out against ignorant parents-not pro-lifers.

If you work in a hospital, then you know that doctors may override any parental denial of services in a life and death situation, and that parents can be charged with felonies for denying medical care to children. The two major religions that fervently deny services are the Christian scientists and Jehovah's Witnesses. (JW merely eschew blood transfusions). Ironically, neither is overly passionate anti abortionists, and Christian Scientists are equally against abortion because it is a medical procedure as the moral issues.

Doesn't matter what religion you claim, because that doesn't necessarily mean that it makes someone moral. I think MOST (not all) religious people are so concerned with one upping the "non religious" that they don't really know how to formulate their own opinions about what really should be fought.
I'm really turned off by all organized religion anyway because there is a certain arrogance about it. Personally, I think abortion is wrong, but I have my own reasons for that, not because its the popular thing to hate among my "religion".
Again, in my opinion, its wrong to kill your child just to upkeep a religious persona. But It doesn't matter what someone allows or disallows because if God want you he will take you. I think that if a child is forced to die because of medical neglect chosen by the parent, then that child is probably better off in the afterlife anyway.

Your question is implicity unfair because you raise a huge moral issue, then try to dismiss it with a red-herring. Of course abortion is the main issue! Just look at the reality of it... www.abortionNO.org or www.abort73.com .
Even if you can find a crazy religious person who wants to refuse their child some medical treatment, doesn't mean you get to throw out or ignore all their other ideas.
Abortion IS the moral question of our day! When you can find three to four THOUSAND CHILDREN BEING KILLED *** EVERY DAY *** IN THE UNITED STATES ALONE, from denying them medical treatment then it can be the moral question of the day.
But regardless, your question is flawed because you assume that you can ignore all persons arguments because you find one you think is incorrect.

I'm not sure what kind of 'religious' people you are coming in contact with ... who would refuse life-saving treatment for their child. None of the religious people I know would do that!
Both abortion & refusing life-saving treatment for your child end with the same result, a dead child. So, you are at least right on that point.

Generally, anti-abortion nuts are huge hypocrits. They are against abortion, against gun control, and for the death penalty.
Christian Science followers can go to prison if they allow their child to die when medical treatment can save them. You should look into that where you work.
Religious folks need to do some deep soul searching to find out why they act in such awful ways. They are hate filled, judgmental, close-minded, and just downright non-Christian when it comes to helping those in need. Their hypocrisy will be their downfall.
