It is good exercise however, they do say you should not exercise 3 hours before going to bed this could effect the quality of your sleep.

Swimming at any time of the day or evening is healthy because its excercise. As long as its not freezing cold and you might catch pnumonia from the swimming.

If you have enough time before going to bed to calm down after swimming (at least 2 hours) its good for you! You will sleep even better :)

swimming any time is healthy as long as you are not by your self
never swim a lone in case you slip-get a cramp--or fall
always do the buddy system

You shouldn't swim just after having meal. Bec. you can have cramps.But it is OK if you are not full.
