Althought the big money fights for Hatton are at Welterwight, I am of the opinion that he is a natural Light Welter and at his best at that weight. He seemed a different fighter when he looked all at sea against Collazo and could (and possibly should) have lost that decision. Against Collazo he looked a shadow of the composed and high energy fighter that hussled Kosta Tsyzu for 11 rounds, also its not as if there are no big fights for him at Light Welter. I think the prospect of Hatton v Cotto would get a lot of interest and how about a fight with Torres, thinking of these potential all action fights make me want Hatton to move down to his natural weight division.

Hatton should hang around at welter, he needs to fight serious competition and he'll get it at welter. If he drops back down, or, not, the zero will fall anyway, or atleast at some point he'll have to risk it against a serious threat. I see your point regarding Margarito, or, Baldomir, but, again, those types of guys are in every weight class. Keep in mind that Diego Chico Corrales, and, Juan Baby Bull Diaz are out there in the lightweight division, and would provide formidable opposition for Hitman. I am of the mindset that if Hatton faces a Margarito, or even a Baldomir he loses, not only does he lose he gets KO'd. I think Corrales and Hatton would be a good fight, a slugfest that ends in either a KO, or a bloody decision, the fight would be remniscient of the Ward/Gatti classic. Juan Diaz is an interesting fighter, I think he is a lot stronger than many think. He is not a household name (just yet), but, he could hurt Hatton with his power. I think that Hatton, as good as he is will have to risk his 0 somewhere soon, it's the only way he can make it in the fight game. He may as well hang around the welters and have a super fight for super pay before he loses the 0 and/or, his appeal.

If he wants to win he should drop down, but the big money fights are at welterweight. I am sure he will take at least one big fight at welterweight before dropping back down.

To be the best hes got to risk beating them eventhough they are bigger. We will see if he steps up and fights everyone willing to give em a chance. That zero won't matter much if its against nobodys.
