There seem to be a lot of people answering in the Religion & Spirituality Category that have a very negative attitude towards the questions. If you feel so strongly that there is no God, that Christianity and other religions are nonsense, why waste your time answering the questions?

There are many other people with negative attitudes here. You shouldn't judge the non-religious just because you don't believe they belong in this section. The fact is that this section is a question and answer forum about Religion and Spirituality. The non-religious have just a right to ask questions, and post answers here, just as much as we do. Many people who are non-religious ask very pertinent questions, that we can answer in polite non-judgmental ways. True, some make very nasty very distasteful comments, but I've seen just as many religious people (if not more, in fact) making equally offensive comments. Remember, we all have a right to be here. If someone wants to "waste their time" as you put it, let them. Don't let negative comments from someone else get to you.

There are all kinds of people on this earth. It takes all kinds to make the world go around. I am sure you have heard that. I think that some people want to be able to have an input either good or bad. Some truly do not believe in God or Jesus. and others are just being antgonistic. As long as they are not trying to put others down I enjoy all the responses. Of course you are always going to have those that have to put things in a rude or mean way, that is their pesonality, Besides if someone does not believe in God or Jesus and they spend enough time reading and answering the questions in Religion and Spirituality they might come to a better understanding and change their minds.

I am not here to do what God wants me to do. If I was, I wouldnt have free will. God is not a forceful, disciplinary being, but a loving observer who watches his creation of life progressing towards perfection. God knows we all want to be happy and that we are going through learning processes to become that way, which sometimes means falling away from the love of God to truly understand what direction we need to go in. God doesnt force or punish, he has all the time in the world and knows we will all find him in our own time.

People are basically afraid of the implications of religious teachings. That there might actually be a Hell. All the anger,
mocking, and psuedo-intelligence we get from others. Revolves around fear.
There are indeed other realities. It is said that there are spirits
lined up out there, trying to get into our material world. Why?
Because they want to strip thier spirits of false pride, and self-
righteousness. And oddly enough. This material world we live in,
is one of the hardest worlds to do that in.
It is said that the "fearful, and unbelieving" will have thier part in the Lake of Fire. It all boils down to fear. Fear from quilt and shame, due to the way we treat others. So we need to mature, and realize there are common failings among all humans.

PEACE

because religious people have spent so much of their time trying to convince the world that their religion makes sense.

It's like if someone kept arguing that the sky is orange instead of blue. you'd probably ring in and say"no, the sky is blue". I'm just saying, "god is not real". Just like the sky is not orange.

The truth hurts, doesn't it?

Would you rather have honest answers from intelligent, educated atheists, or, incorrect answers from God fearing, bible thumping fundamentalists?

Isn't the purpose of Yahoo!Answers to ask questions and receive honest answers?

"Agnostic" literally means "ignorant." "Gnosis" is Greek for "knowledge" and the prefix "a" means "without."

An agnostic is claiming he believes in ignorance.

Someone has to be here when the atheists and agnostics get bashed.

Besides, I've seen some rather tart comments about the Catholics and Jews and they have a faith.

they believe they will pull someone away from a religion, this is stupidity at its best, changing anothers belief is like wanting to move the clouds with your hands, you cannot, it is only the mans doubts that will change his mind.

hating arrogance( atheist) and ignorance ( theist)

Why? Let them be. If you are clean all is clean. If you know, nobody can shake you. They have the right to doubt. We actually do not know. He may be or he may not be. We even do not know what, who, ... He/She/It/??? is.
Be more refined and understand why they are really here. we need each other.

I blame gay bashers. I'm here with my brothers and sisters. Unless you make me mad I won't report you.
