It is the exact design but the color is a light pumpkin color. I'm not sure if I should wear it or not because of its long length. I think that it is too long to wear to a Medical School graduation. What does everyone else think?

Is the graduation a formal/prom event? Seems more suitable to an evening wedding, but if you already purchased it and are comfortable wearing it, then go for it!

I've read the other answers- seems there's a consensus-
a) too long, too formal.
b) be an individual, wear what you want.
My opinion is kind of in the middle- The style is kind of long/formal, but the color you've chosen will help to tone down the formality.

For better advice, I would need to know-
What time is the graduation ceremony?- mid morning, mid afternoon, or evening...

Is it a formal black-tie event? or a nice-dress thing ceremony? or a casual-slacks get-together?

What school is he graduating from?... might provide some insights.

Will there be a social afterwards and will you be comfortable wearing that, no matter what others are wearing?

It's a gorgeous dress. If it's a daytime event, you may be the only one in a long dress, but not if it's an evening event. You might want to take it up to what is called a European length, which is mid-calf, if it is a daytime event. Don't cut off the fabric, in case you wanted to wear the dress again for a more formal occasion.
Or you could wear it as is. Your brother won't mind (What brother even notices?) and it's not like you're doing anything offensive.
Enjoy and Congratulations!

No. I graduated from medical school and this will really make you overdressed. I'd imagine there will be a hooding ceremony the sometime before the graduation ceremony (where he will take his oath) and then graduation later with the rest of the university. I'd advise a short dress---nothing too cocktail dress-like or too formal. You will want to be comfortable, too. These ceremonies are long and generally hot.

Where as the dress is very nice and I'm sure you'll look great in it, I think its a little over dressed for your brothers graduation. Its more appropriate for a prom or a ball.

I think a gown is too formal to wear at your brother's graduation. Go for something a little less formal, like a dress.

it's kinda fancy for a graduation! maybe you should stick with a nice sweater over a blouse and trouseres or if you really want to wear a dress, make it a little brighter b/c this is a happy moment in his life. and something shorter would do you justice too

bypass with some thing very comfortable, no longer too dressy. anybody is often casual at those issues. plan your selection around any "after" interest like out to dinner. once you're purely going to commencemnt you would be dissapointed to work out alot of folk in denims- of direction i'm in ohio- we would be slobs

I agree with you, although it is a very pretty dress, I think it will be too formal. You should go with a shorter length dress.
