Fasting causes hallucinations and if you are participating in an exorcism, the only way you can buy that crap is if you are hallucinating.

I don't know about "priests" but I know Pastors who have cast out demons and they didn't have to fast for a couple of days. When Jesus told his disciples that a certain type of demon only came out after prayer and fasting, I believe He was talking about the need for a person to be building their faith by seeking God.

Jesus is our example. He went away at times to seek God's face. The disciples brought a boy to Jesus which they could not cast out the demons. Jesus said this kind only comes out through prayer and fasting. Think of it as getting ready for a battle. You have to get all the necessary things in place. The full armor of God. It is a battle and one should look at it as such. It is a spiritual battle.

Usually fasting goes with praying. It is a heart issue . So instead of eating, which we like to do, the time is spent in prayer seeking God.
