so many people claim things they dont know, all their sources are anti-muslim websites and people, and they believe that as if it's the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.. then when u try to tell them about the truth they dont listen.. do they think they're being smart or something cuz so far as i know, for anything to be eligible u have to have proven sources for it
and even when they try to quote Quran or Muhammad (PBUH) they get misinterpretations, or wrong verses, or even parts of verses that give a completely different meaning without the rest of it
is this part of the western so called "culture" or is it just stupid people
i dont mean offence to anyone but that's just weird!!!

You are right if people know nothing of islam then they should respond as if it is only opinion. I am not familiar with the muslim religion and therefore I would not say anything about it bad or good. I hope this makes you feel better even if I am one in a hundred.

You may have some part of a 'point' but the reason why non-muslims speak out against Islam & muslims is that the majority of muslims do not do enough to rid the extremist, hate-mongerers etc who hide behind Islam. Open you eyes to this fact and you will realise no proof is needed for this fact when you look at Bin-Laden, Abu Hamza and the others who openly talk about destroying the west in way or another but always seem to have other muslims to thank for their lack of capture or punishment. This is what annoys us.
As for culture? I am sick of folk who scream 'for victimisation against Islam' just because we as UK ask for more effort. Culture? Cornershop after cornershop, taxi driver after taxi driver? Mercy/honour killings, Hijabs, kebab shops, surely there is much more Islamic culture that can be offered that we non-muslims could experience without feeling theatened or unwelcomed also? However we dont feel that is the case? (if not please enlighten us!!) I could rant rant rant about this for ages but its people like you who need to rally the masses and persuade general perception that Islam means something different to what we see daily. Then you wont be faced with 'ignorance'
Finally i am not saying i believe everything i read, i dont have to i see it for myself London and Manchester have big muslim communities (places i frequent often)!!

Because, my dear, some people will believe anything they are told. I was originally drawn to Yahoo Answers by a Muslim who was insisting that Mohammad spoke about pulsars in the Qur'an. I cross referenced the Qur'anic verses he provided with verses found on genuine Islamic websites. I discovered his source blatantly mistranslated the Qur'an to support the concept of "scientific miracles" in the Qur'an. He wasn't necessarily lying to me, but his source was. The man was simply ignorant. It truly is a shame that people will use lies to attack OR support a religion. If more people posessed enough skepticism to verify the things they believe, liars would not be so successful with their sick game of mind control.
Peace!

A big part of the problem is the failure of good muslims to get vocal about the extremists that are the cause of the problem. If Muslims want to keep themselves from becoming targets for violence then they are the only ones who can stop the situation from getting worse. If you don't stand up and fight against these hate mongering islamic terrorists then the situation is only going to get worse.

Until the radical Muslims who want to destroy anything that they do not agree with are defeated, and until other Muslims stand up and publicly join the battle against those who have corrupted the religion, people are going to believe the worst about Islam.
You can try to convince people that your beliefs are correct, but when you try to force others to obey a religion that they do not believe in, you will have conflicts!!!!

They just look at Bin Laden + his followers and hate Muslims and Islam. Islam is a religion, Muslims are people, they hate Muslims and mock Islam. Did you not get it? The super power made all this up, turning the world against Muslims....why? 'cause they have the oil.

because once people decide they're against something, they blindly pick up any excuse to oppose it....they want weapons, and don't care if what they say is true or not....when you attack maliciously it doesn't really matter whether you are right, as long as you are convinced you are....aqnd once you're convinced you're right, it's hard to be persuaded otherwise.
it's not stupidity, but ignorance and prejudice...I won't say ''only ignorance'' cos ignorance causes a lot of pain....stupidity would almost be more acceptable somehow....
