Commit carbamide peroxide cankercide. Carbamide peroxide is the generic form Of an over-the counter medication that combines glycerin and peroxide. The peroxide releases oxygen and cleans up the bacteria, The bubbles get into the tiniest crevices. The glycerine puts on a coating and helps protect the sore, Brand names include Gly-oxide, Amosan, and Cankaid.

two cures i have heard of:

I have tried the first and it works. Its also kind of painful. canker sores need an acidic environment, so take an antacid table (TUMS) and place it over the area. A dentist told me this, and it works on decreasing the size and intensity of a canker sore, also it decreases the amount of time the sore is there.

My boss once acidently put wart cream on one (it was dark and he thought the tube was orajel). After feeling one of the most intense pains he ever had from a canker sore it went away, and he hasnt had one since (this happened 20 + years ago). The idea behind this is, warts and canker sores are viral. so the wart cream was an anti viral, and theoretically killed the virus that causes recurring canker sores. He says it was worth it to never have one again.

Baking soda works, as the first guy says, because it also reacts with acids, to raise the pH.

definitely the warm and water and salt solution - swishs it around your mouth several times a day and spit out. also there's a waxy medicine, I don't remember what it's called, that you "paint" over the canker sore and it seals it so you don't keep reinjuring it with your tongue or food. Ask a pharmacist what that is.

There are lots of remedies you can get at a store, but my mom always used to make me put baking soda on them. Also try mixing warm water and salt and swishing it around it your mouth.
