We are sailing the south Caribbean (St. Thomas, St. Marteen, Aruba and leaving from Puerto Rico); has anyone had experience on this liner.

We are used to a smaller cruise and are worried that their are 3500 people on this boat. Please write me a review if you have any experience with this boat.

Thanks.

You have a nice cruise planned with the ports of call and evertything, I think you will enjoy that. Royal Caribbean is one of the best for Caribbean cruises.

As far as the size of the boat, it just depends. Since you are used to smaller boats, it will be a little different. But, it really depends what you are used to. Do you usually sail on luxury lines, or are you used to some of the older ships on Royal Caribbean, Carnival, etc. If you are used to the smaller, luxury lines, it may take some time to get accustomed to. Royal Caribbean is a great line, but if you are used to more expensive lines, it is a really different experience. If you are used to older ships, you will love the ship. They are newer, more updated, there is tons to do, etc.

One good thing with cruises is that even when there are a lot of people onboard, you don't always realize it, everyone goes their own way and there are only certain times when you will be doing something that really draws a crowd.

Adventure of the Seas is one of my favorite ships from Royal Caribbean. The food and entertainment is some of the best offered by the line. Whenever of I get on one of the super ships like Adventure of the Seas, it always amazes me what it all has to do with activities and everything.

I think that you will really enjoy the ship. I can't really think of anything to complain, it is a lot of fun and a really great cruise. The only negative, I could think of if any, would be that it is a popular ship for families. If you are wanting an adult only atmosphere, it may not be the best choice. But, if you have kids, they will have a blast.

Here is a link to some reviews and more information on the ship: http://cruisecritic.com/reviews/review.cfm?ShipID=192

I hope this helps!

I have been on about a dozen cruises, many on Royal Caribbean (not sure if any were Adventure) and most on the new mega-ships with 2,000+ passengers. The ships manage their passengers really well and the only time you may feel crowded is when you first get on and when you are about to disembark after the cruise. The ships do not seem crowded at all and I have noticed that after a several days I see passenger that I have never seen before on the ship.

Tours off the ship are generally not a problem because not everone takes a tour in port and those who do tours generally leave at different times.

WE are booked on RC's new biggest ship for later this year, so we'll see if it still holds true.

I've been on both Adventurer and Voyager and had a FABULOUS time on both. Enough so that I'm going on Freedom this trip. You'll never know there are 3500 people on board. There's so many different places to be and things to do. I travel with a group that has very diverse interests. It's funny how we all come away with completely different experiences because we're never doing the same things. For example, night life: I go to the night club, one brother goes to the pub (I believe it's The Pig and Whistle on Adventure), one friend goes to the cigar bar, my parents go to the piano bar, and my other brother makes the rounds to the mall or buffets- wherever there's free food. It always seems to me that I keep seeing the same 100 people and, at the end of the cruise, I see all of these other people getting off and think "were they on the ship this week? I never saw them!" The only area that ever feels remotely crowded to me is the pool deck but I've always managed to stake out some space. (On "at sea" days you'll want to get up there early.) I'm a person who doesn't really like crowds and I'd do the big ships any day. The itinerary for Adventurer is fabulous. I loved all of the islands and there's plenty of great shore excursions. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me through here. Have a great trip!

We were on it in 2002. It was the first megaship we had been on. I liked the ports of call. I did not like leaving from Puerto Rico. There were many rude Puerto Ricans onboard, with their children and parents and grandparents. But we did meet some really nice people, too. We did the Americus Cup racer in St. Maartin. The ship was nice, but crowded. You had to stand in line for several hours to get tickets to the ice skating show. There were lines every where you went. If you didn't get a seat at the pool early, you didn't get a seat. People weren't supposed so save chairs, but they did anyway.

We went on the Mariner last October and liked it a lot better. It sailed out of Tampa and there weren't as many rude passengers.

I agree with you, we like the smaller RCCL ships better. THe Vision class and the Radiance class ships. THere is a greater crew to passenger ratio and I think the service is better on the smaller ships.

We are going on the inagurial cruise of the LIberty in May 2007. I'm not much for the crowds, but I am excited about seeing the new ship.

I've sailed on the ADVENTURE many times in the past ....your gonna have a ball !

The big cruise liners have several stablizers so its a very smooth ride

Furthermore, The Adventure has great ports of call

another plus for you is that the ports of call you mention dont require a tender so you'll be able to walk off the ship at your leisure

note: if you dont mind NOT being THE FIRST ONE OFF THE SHIP , wait awhile before you disembark to avoid the crowds

happy sailing !

A great ship and alot of fun !
The ship is plenty big to accomodate the passengers, so don't worry about the service - it' second to none. There will be plenty to do all day and night. The itinerary you have is a good one as well - we have done that cruise a couple of times.

I took this same trip about 4 years ago--don't worry about the # of people, the ship is GIGANTIC--especially if you decide to not go on one of the islands during the day, there is a lot of space.
The food is great, the shows were just OK (pretty much the hokey stuff on all cruise ships).
Have fun!!
