Fear. Fear is the greatest of all threats. And fear is what U.S has made for themselves and rest of world. All are afraid of immigration.

bc one a lot of clinics along the boarder have to close down especially in Texas. two 10% of all violent felons in California are illegal. three without securing the boarder then drugs will come into the US. I blame the Americans more then I blame the illegals on this one. I believe if Americans stop using drugs then the illegals will have no reason to have the drugs. The thing I do not understand is if the Mexicans want an open boarder then why do they have a boarder?

I think the answer to the immigration is I believe the states needs their own INS. I think its just plan crazy with the US. I have a friend that was on a visa for 6 months and he applied for an extention and it took the INS 8 months to get back to him and they told him he was an alien by the way. I do not blame him for being here 2 months longer then his visa. I just think the INS needs to change and allow the good people to come to this country.

WEll I hope this was a logical answer

I think the answer you have received from TINKERBELL says it best.

To that I will add that the rudest, loudest, and most obnoxious in the anti-illegal camp are also those who are the most racist. These people have probably had a very bad personal experience with an illegal. Those same people use this forum to rant, rant, rant against illegals and play nasty games to seek attention, which they get and manipulate the forum with their trash.

You have likely read these answers and assume what you have posted, and it is understandable that you would come to that conclusion. For the most part this forum is comprised of kids or ignorant and uneducated adults. Take heart, mainstream American is not represented here in major numbers.

Because America doesn't take care of its own first. If we did, and every homeless person had an affordible home, every jobless person had a decent job, I would welcome immigrants with open arms.

But I don't welcome them with open arms because in Portland Maine, where I live, white Americans have been booted from low income housing to make way for people from Samalia, Vietnam, Mexico, you name it. I have to pay for this. It's not that I don't feel for these people and their situations, because I do but over the last 5 years the price of renting and purchasing a home has doubled. And every time a new "affordible housing development" goes underway, it is filled with Samalians. Why? Because demand for housing has increased. In a town up north called Lewiston, aprox. 1200 Samalians moved there in the course of 6 months. Guess what happened there? The schools had to expand and hire more teachers, the welfare system went broke, social service aginces had to turn away americans who needed and had previously been recieving help, property taxes went up like you wouldn't believe, Neo-Nazi groups moved in with their messages taken seriously by people who otherwise wouldn't have. And above all, these people don't understand the use of deodorant. So they literally stink. And saying anything against this lables you as a racist.

So tell me, why should I welcome them.

According to a gallop poll I saw a few days ago...Americans think more favorably about immigrant now then they have in the last 5 years...At the same time over 80% are against illegal immigration....based on what i have seen here in the months i have been posting I would have to agree with those findings and therefor disagree with your assumption...

Because the so called cheap labor is costing us American tax payers dearly.

CHEAP LABOR
Isn't that what the whole immigration issue is about?
Business doesn't want to pay a decent wage
Consumers don't want expensive produce
Government will tell you Americans don't want the jobs
But the bottom line is cheap labor
The phrase "cheap labor" is a myth, a farce, and a lie there is no such thing as "cheap labor."
Take, for example, an illegal alien with a wife and five children.
He takes a job for $5.00 or $6.00/hour.
At that wage, with six dependents, he pays no income tax, yet at the end of the year, if he files an Income Tax Return, he gets an "earned income credit" of up to $3,200 free.
He qualifies for Section 8 housing and subsidized rent
He qualifies for food stamps
He qualifies for free (no deductible, no co-pay) health care
His children get free breakfasts and lunches at school
He requires bilingual teachers and books
He qualifies for relief from high energy bills
If they are or become, aged, blind or disabled, they qualify for SSI.
Once qualified for SSI they can qualify for Medicare.
All of this is at that taxpayer's expense.
He doesn't worry about car insurance, life insurance, or homeowners insurance.
Taxpayers provide Spanish language signs, bulletins and printed material.
He and his family receive the equivalent of $20.00 to $30.00/hour in benefits.
Working Americans are lucky to have $5.00 or $6.00/hour Left after paying their bills and his.
The American taxpayer's also pay for increased crime, graffiti and trash clean-up.
Cheap labor?
YEAH RIGHT!
Wake up people!

The vast majority of us are fine with legal immigrants, it is only the illegals we have a problem with. There are a few nuts that hate all immigrants, but that is a very tiny minority. Unfortunately, the stupid and hate-filled among us are often the loudest.

Some people may have misunderstood what you were looking for, sorry about that.
Unfortunately, we have people being let into the country who never should have been let in.
People who came just to get on our welfare system , who will never get a job , have no intention of getting a job .
We also have people , came to excape the law back home but claim refuge statis . It will take years in the courts to weed them out , at tax payer expence .
The laws need to be changed and/or inforced

There are alot of different kinds of people on here.

1) People who are pro-illegal,no matter what. They support illegals and ask for amnesty for them.
2)People like me,who are pro-illegal,but with stipulations. We feel that illegals should be treated as human beings and respected.Although illegal, they should be given a chance to become legal through easier INS applications and fees. But no amnesty,b/c it's not fair to other legal immigrants.
3)People who are anti-illegal,but respect the hispanic race.Yes,there are those out there. They are against illegal immigration b/c it breaks the law,but not racist towards hispanics. They just feel it's not fair or right to break the law.I respect that.
4)Then there are "the others".The racist ones who just use illegal immigration to fuel their hate.I don't think it matters to them who is illegal or legal. They think of all hispanics as dirty illegal mexicans. They are stupid. And,unfortunately,I think they are who you've most read on here. But not everybody feels this way,so have faith in the rest of us.So not all of us are like that. :-P

Bye!
