some phone boxes have all ready been decommissioned and they are constantly looking at how a box performs to see if its viable to keep it or to take it away .but some boxes will never go because they are far to profitable so the answer to your question is no not for a while yet anyway

Phone boxes will disappear the way that Bread men,Milk men. Fish men, Rag&bone men etc disappeared or are about to disappear.Old people are learning to operate mobiles, (Old Nokias) I am 76 and am capable of receiving a call or making a call. Not very good at text though.

Phone boxes will NEVER disappear from our streets. Not everyone owns a mobile phone, the reception is terrible in places.

What will you do when your car breaks down and the battery is flat on your mobile phone? You'll go to the nearest phone box, and if the phone is working call for help.

In the UK, many have been converted into email/text kiosks, and I think this will continue in town centres.

There are still some of the old red "heritage" phone boxes in some villages - even very tiny places with hardly any people. I suspect these are kept both for tourism purposes and for the very real possibility of an emergency with hardly any people around.

That's a very good question and an excellent observation! I do believe that phone boxes will be phased out as more people go totally to cell phones.

The reason why there is a decline in the number of phone boxes in our streets, is due to the uptake in mobile phones. It is a sad fact of life but we have to get used to it!!!

My 5 year old doesn't have her own phone yet, but she will as soon as she learns her numbers.

Yes, I think pay phones in public places are going to disappear. As they go bad, they won't be replaced.

No I don't think they will. I think they will be updated with new technology ie see the person you are talking to or even send text messages and other futuristic stuff.

do you mean dog as in man's best friend or dog as in dated hip-hop phrase?

As for "phone boxes" they're a thing of the past.
