Does anyone have advice for someone living in the UK who is getting married in Las Vegas? Have you found any dresses (traditional or otherwise) suitable for getting married overseas?

Any help appreciated!

Hi there

I got married in Hong kong last year with temperatures of 40 degrees plus! So I had to choose wizely!

I ended up buying what was a bridesmaids dress and adding extra details to it like small silk flowers (they did this at the dress shop for me), it worked out reasonably priced, looked stunning and was totally unique!

I managed the whole day in extremely hot weather but I would advise not to go for a big dress or you will melt!

I don't know where you live but I bought my dress from Glitz Ritz & Tiara's Wayfarers Arcade,Lord St, Southport, Merseyside PR8 1NT Tel: 01704 500155. They were very helpful.

I can email you a pic of my dress if you like I'm not sure how to attach photos to this. If your less of a technophobe than me let me know and I will see what I can do!

Hope this helps :-)

Depends on what time of year you are getting married. I got married in Vegas in January of this year, and I wore long sleeves (although the sleeves of my gown came off). The weather was cool, and not too hot. Just remember that the weather is very hot during the summer, but the air conditioning in all the hotels are fantastic.

Good luck!! Congrats.

Hey I'm a guy, what do I know? Listen, white is in, but make it a short dress, depending on who'll be there. Obviously if granny will be in attendance you may want to opt out of this idea, otherwise, its 1500 degree's out there, live it up, shorten up the dress, and drive your future husband nuts thinking about that night in your suite! Don't forget the Strawberries and whip cream!

Try this website- I bought my dress(es) for me & my girls for my Vegas wedding there and it was soooooo easy and affordable.

In Vegas, you won't be exposed to the heat except for going in and out of buildings so get what you want- I do, however, recommend short sleeves or sleeveless for daytime if you are having your service outside.

Remember to get comfortable shoes- you will be doing a LOT of walking!

Good luck!

Anything goes! Google 'vintage dress' and look for a 1950's puffy, short dress. A Trashy Diva wedding dress (scroll to the bottom) would be PERFECT. HAVE fun!

my cousin is getting married in las vegas this summer, she has opted for a white/ivory summer dress and her husband to be is wearing a cream/beige linen suit with a white shirt unbuttoned underneath - its physically toooooo hot to wear a proper formal dress there - bare in mind - your in the middle of the dessert!

Are you planning on getting married outside? If you are, I'd suggest a linen dress. Simple... and elegant.

www.bestbridalprices.com they have an excellent selection
I'd go with a sleevless A-Line gown It's sleek and light weight but you'll still look elegant
and wear flip flops, find some dressy white ones, you'll be comfortable and actually enjoy your first dance!
