Would you please write what do you feel personally about the subject, if possible?

Where I live, in Europe, euthanasia is legal for human beings under very strict legal and moral supervision.
The person who wishes euthanasia in situations accepted by the law, have the right to request it even before they become completely dement.
I am a Surgeon, and had seen people in such an agony that they beg for ending up their life, since nothing relieves their pain.
As a person, I believe that accepting that death as part of life as the birth, is necessary to understand that compassion has to be applied not only to animals but to human beings.
I know that is a difficult subject to take position.
On the other hand, a criminal is also a human being that must be punished with the purpose of achieving a real change, in other terms regretting what they have done and just in case be kept away from the society.
Is not contradictory to let somebody who committed no crime to die suffering and end the life of the criminal fast and without pain?

Because in western culture God said that "you can still be saved if you regret for your sins" and the Judge translated it " I can execute people as long as I say I' am sorry about them and what they did".
Again in western culture suicide or euthanasia (easy death) is a sin that you cannot regret because ... you're dead. So it's wrong ...so it's illegal.
In other cultures suicide may be considered an honor under circumstances but euthanasia is like quiting from life so it is never an honor.
Personally I believe that executing should be illegal and euthanasia should be legal as the right of a person to his own life but I would never admire a person who chose it even if it was me.

A very interesting comparison ... one that I'd not thought to consider.

I'm not certain I can offer any insight into the situation, as I am in favor of allowing euthanasia to those who are suffering and desire relief.

We "put down" pets and other animals as a means of "alleviating their pain" ... we consider it a humane and considerate course of action ... yet we deny the same basic privilege to people. I don't see the sense in it.

I have not decided how I feel about the death penalty, as its existance is out of my realm of influence at the time. I would need to do further study on the topic, as so many heated debates use poorly gathered, inaccurate, or incomplete information as a way of proving themselves rather than honestly considering both sides of the argument.

You have a valid point. But euthanasia is more barbaric than executions. How do I know?....my grandparents were killed by euthanasia....their sons and daughters (my mother included) murdered them by neglect and cruelty. The motive for allowing my grandparents to die in a subtle but pre-meditated manner - money. They died of a broken heart and a crushed spirit. My grandfather suffered the most when he died. He was crying when I held him in my arms before the death rattle (prelude to the coming of the Grim Reaper). I wanted to help him but I was physically and financially unable to. My grandfather's children felt that the money spent on caring for him was being wasted. For them, money is worth more than a human life...

There isn't a day that passes when I don't think of the injustice that was inflicted upon them by six evil individuals who killed them. In this case, execution of these individuals is proper and just. It won't bring my grandparents back, but it will prevent those people from continuing their legacy of evil.

That happened 4 years ago. I'm married now and I have a daughter. I'm very happy but the scars remain. I accept that...and that's why I'm not going to end up being like the sub-humans who murdered my grandparents. So to anyone who even contemplates on killing a person just because he or she is old or sick....you're no different from murderers who deserve to be executed. Peace.

Legally, death penalty is just legal murder because someone ends up dead. Euthanasia is also just another term for murder because both ways- you still take the life of another human being - whether its with that person's consent or not. Euthanasia is only legal for animals at the moment or when a patient signs a DNR (do not resuscitate) order.

Executing is an action that has the sanctity of public welfare, well considered by legislators, advised by philosophers well versed in theory and concepts of punishments (4 major branches).
Euthanasia is merely physiological help to an individual whose well being cannot be assisted by physicians due to lack of knowledge regarding the course of action needed.

because executing is punishment for a crime committed, euthanasia is killing without cause. I personnally believe that someone who is terminally ill, and in pain, without any hope of recovery should be able to decide if their life is still worth living.

Execution is punishment for a crime. Euthenasia is killing because of existence itself. The person being executed could have chosen not to commit the crime. The person being euthenized has no choice at all.

Exections are for really bad criminals , murderers, etc.
Euthanasia targets helpless people

although I do agree there are times when a good arguement can be made for euthanasia
