Thats such a funny question. As if a religious person would say yes. There are so many views on why the instituion of religion was established. Marx, "Religion is the opium of the masses." There are many reasonable answers, which are all right. I like to accept that the notion of Religion is an attempt to explain our situation. It's a very simple way to look at it. But really there is no right to this because these attempts can never be proven right or wrong, so people respond with saying they have faith. And their right, faith can not be explained in terms of logic. I don't believe in any religion. I know that religion is man-made and since man is imperfect whatever man makes is imperfect therfore religion is imperfect. But I do have Faith that there exists a perfection, and it is out there, and we may or may not be able to understand it fully.

I think there comes a time in everyone's life when they wonder about how everything existed, how everything is, and why everything is there.. and when u start looking at the clues in ur religion u'll feel the truth. and when u're satisfied with these clues, then you believe
I believe because everytime i read a verse in Quran i discover something that i didnt realize when i read it the last time, because every feeling i ever had in my life has an explanation either in Quran or in Sunnah (the words and actions of Muhammad (PBUH)) and because everything seems to make sense, and then things make more sense when scientific facts are discovered.
I believe in my religion because the first thing it calls for is MORALS
I love my religion and i'm convinced by it, that's why i believe

No, for a long time I was a non-believer because I didn't see the logic in Christianity with all of the oversights in the Bible. But once I experience and researched Wicca I came to see that although my physical needs were fulfilled my spirituality was void and needed something. I feel that believing in and following the Wiccan path makes me feel more complete as a whole.

No, I am not afraid. My religion doesn't include the concept of a "hell". I do not see anything to be afraid of. I believe because I enjoy my relationships with my deities and this makes me happy.

I'll be completely honest: NO!! I believe in Islam because I'm 10,000% sure and convinced that I'm on the right path. I thank God daily for guiding me to this religion, and to open my heart, unlike many others who had their hearts blind and locked to the truth.

In my case yes. I was so afraid to believe something different that it contributed to a mental breakdown. My views now are more like ( thedecider20). Raised part Presbyterian and part Quaker. Went to many different churches in between.

Some philosopher, I cant remember who exactly, said once that we definitely should believe in God. First option - if God doesn't exist, but we believed anyway, never mind. Second option - if God does exist, but we didn't believed in him, than...we are in trouble. So better option is second one. This is a funny story actually, but I do believe, not because all this above that I wrote. I am convinced in his existence.

From what I have read and observed, the Christian religion as well as the old pagan religions had gods that punished. Some religions do not have a god for punishment. Other religions have no god to fear at all.
