There is an adage which goes like this - "If you have knowledge, let others light their candles at it". The candle (a person) glows to give others light, but it is the prerogative of the person receiving this light to act accordingly. A candle mearly burning itself out doesnt impart anything; rather sharing its knowledge would prove much fruitful.

Why not? To me everybody does this ! ! !
May be difficult to agree, but I think it stands to good logic.
Somebody burns his energy, doing helpful things, I get the light to see how I can do like him , using his action as an example.
Somebody burns his energy doing unhelpful things, he is more precious, I learn what I should avoid, looking at him as an example !
Somebody does nothing, and yet I see how wasteful the precious life is going for him, and I learn that too !
And I am sure, if a few care to see what I (seem to ) see, then MAYBE they will TRY to agree with me, that observing others can also help us saving our effort to live through that experience to learn !

yeah I do this and there aren't to many things in life that I worry about, what comes around goes around

i honestly believe that everybody is somebody's candle!!
i give a lot to my friends and family and try to ensure that i am the best role model i can be for my students

This morning, I spent 2 hours on the phone for helping a friend of mine, and well, I think I gave "light" to her. And I think she gave me "light" too then.

ya i do...........i help ppl alot...without expecting nothing from them,,but sometimes it hurts ....when u expect some favour from them and they do not help u
