i have really frizzy hair - and what i find that helps is using a
straightening iron.
also, there is this heat-protectant stuff i spray on before hand (so my hair doesn't get damaged in the process)
it comes out looking as smooth as silk after that!

Ok the first thing is a nice haircut, yep be brave and just hack all that frizz away. Now after your frizz has gone the question is how do I make sure I don't get frizzy hair again.
Every month trim your hair, a quarter of an inch will do, just enough to get rid of dead ends.
The ideal would be no curling tongs, hair straighteners and hair dryers or if this is a little too much to ask how about.....only dry your hair when going somewhere special and use straighteners and curling thongs on the end of your hair only, as you will be cutting away the dead ends anyway.
You can on the odd hot day leave conditioner in your hair in the sun for a few hours or use it after you wash your hair if it is naturally frizzy. There are excellent serums you can buy to immediately take the frizzed look away.
Plastic brushes break your hair, buy a real bristle hairbrush and stay away from combs. My daughter asked me what I did to keep her hair so perfect when she was young and its mostly what I didn't do.

I have problems with frizziness too. This is my hair regimen to get rid of it! (If you look at my avatar….you’ll see that it really does work!!). Good luck! =)
1. Choose a shampoo or conditioner by looking for the words smoothing, moisturizing or hydrating on the front of the bottle (I use Pantene Pro-V for dry and damaged hair).
2. After washing, towel dry and apply a smoothing or frizz serum (I like John Frieda’s Frizz Ease…found at most drug stores).
3. Let hair hang dry until it is almost fully dry. When almost dry, finish drying with a blow dryer while using a round boar-bristle brush (work with small areas at a time – do not let your hair blow all over the place, otherwise it will just become more unruly).
4. Make sure your hair is completely dry. If there is anymore moisture left it will become frizzy.
5. By using a 1-1/2 inch (or larger) curling iron or a flat iron, you can smooth out any left over frizz.
6. You can also apply a hair wax (like Bumble and Bumble Styling Wax) or pomade (like Got2B Defiant Define Plus Shine Pomade) now.
7. Finish off by using a flexible hair spray (like Finesse’s Touchable hair spray).
* Get your ends trimmed up at least every 6 weeks.

I have slightly curly hair but mostly it is very frizzy if left to its own devices!
The best advice I can give you is not to blow dry or heat straighten your hair! If you have curly hair then rejoyce in that fact!
How I deal with my hair is to wash and condition it like usual, wrap it in a towel to stop it from dripping for a few minutes, then brush it, then I get a reasonable amount of regular (wash out) conditioner and work that into my hair (like you would a smothing gel or serum.) I then get water on my hands and wet my hair, scrunching it so that the strands stick together ( so it is almost as wet as when I came out of the shower) then put the towel back on and leave for a few mins.
Then take towel off when it has dryed off a little (so it isnt dripping wet anymore) and leave to dry naturally.
YOu get really natural looking curls with none of the frizz, and if it gets frizzy just use a little water on your hands to scrunch your hair and it will be smooth again.
Hairdressers comment on how soft and well conditioned my hair is and it is cheaper and easier to do than many of these expensive serums that never work for me! But I do reccomend that you use a fairly good quality conditioner, I am currently using the intense conditioner you get in the pack when you bleach your hair, you dont need very much at all.
It is a bit of a long winded answer but it really works.

Try using a really good shampoo and conditioner, I like TRESemme Anti-Breakage. I also use TRESemme Heat Tamer spray and Anti Frizz Secret cream. I apply them when my hair is wet and I reapply the Heat Tamer if I am using the straightening iron. I also always finish with another dose of the Anti Frizz Secret. Makes my hair soft as silk. Always use a ceramic straightening iron. Also note, a straightening iron will dry out and damage your hair causing more frizz, so use it only when you absolutely have too. Always let your hair air dry 75% of the way then use the cold setting on your hair dryer. If you must use the straightening iron always use a product to protect your hair from the heat.

Try straightening it, it's the best way. Not the home straighteners but the ones that you straighten for 8-9 hours, they're will really work. I have a friend that has really, i mean really frizzy/ curly hair and she had her hair straightened and now she looks absolutely beautiful. It'll really work. It only cost $490 Hong Kong dollars, which is around $100 here.

If you use dove leave in hair cream and put lots on when you come out of the shower then that should stop your curls from going frizzy also if you like you could try some hair spray.
But i know that the dove leave in cream works i buy it and use it on my hair it's around £1.90 for a 150ml bottle i believe.
There are 2 kinds of bottles of the cream and one is purple which i think is spose to be for darkened hair it doesn't say though so i got one and i also got the bottle that was clear and they both seem to work the same but the purple cream is a little darker.
hair creams are also the best for frizzy hair.
Gliss hair products are more expensive me and my mum both have curly hair her's is more curly then mine though and she uses gliss and it makes her hair look great. I just use dove on mine i feel it works best for me.

A few thngs help me with my frizzy mane:
1. Hair straightener - invest in a good one with ceramic plates and temp control.
2. Serum - John Frieda is good.. but there are loads... and loads... PRODUCT is necessary for firrzy hair.
3. Keep water away from hair at all times.. only time water should touch your hair is when you wash ur hair, at other times if you need to smooth it down use a product..
4. Moisturiser for the hair ..
Good luck! :)

Some things to do to cure the frizzies:
1) Dry your hair in down position with blow dryer or just sit under the dryer. (If you blowdry your hair against the cuticle it will become frizzy)
2) Tie your hair up when you go to bed at night to eliminate friction against your pillow/sheets on your cuticles. Or, sleep on a satin pillow.
3) Use products that control friz...like anti-friz serums (ie. John Freida anti-friz serum is good). Or, Bio-Silk.
I'm a hair stylist....hope this helps!
