Centuries ago, atheists were persecuted by theists. Atheists were "demonized".

I consider that atheists point out intrinsic incoherences (in their view) thus help fragile persons not to fall in cults.

I consider that atheists help people get a choice: a life with or without religion.

So, dear atheists, are you aware that humankind needs you so that there is more freedom on this planet?

An early Roman convert to Christianity, I think his name was Anaxorous -- Yahoo! Search doesn't have an answer-- was branded an atheist as he did not believe that the Sun was a god, merely a ball of fire. Thus yesterday's atheists are to-day's believers. You're right, we have and need room for all kinds of faith.

Yes. I was aware of that. It's just a pity that all those religious nuts out there don't believe in the "live and let live" mantra. Why can't someone choose to believe,(or not), in a particular religion, without having to try to turn others to their own faith, or worse still, kill them?

Another lost soul trying to find a way out?
Let's say this one is still hopeful
Praying hard for some quick salvation
Easy as an answer from a perfect stranger?
Reasonable as it might be?

All right, now YOU KNOW the answer..

How flattering. I believe, though, that the world needs everybody who's able to think and willing to work. I'm nobody special just because I happen to hold no belief in god.

Well, I guess that is one way to look at it. I am not really sure I agree with you, about needing atheists in the world though.
