A couple of the happiest years of my life were spent with a man who had done some time, and we are still very close friends.
Someone I love more than my next breath is in prison right now.
No one should be defined by a single act, good or bad. Many, maybe most, of those in prison are there for a single moment of anger, stupidity, greed, desperation or simple bad luck... and no one should pay forever for one moment.
The real question, when considering dating someone who has been to prison is "Are you interested in this person as he is TODAY"

I did marry someone that had been to prison...This person never divulged this information. I found it out when I was divorcing him. I had a criminal background done on this man during the divorce and the things that this report revealed were mind boggling. Not once in the 10 yr marriage did he mention he had been in prison for assault w/ a deadly weapon, armed robberty. Talk about 10 yrs of clueless!!!

No. But if this person was in prison just because was fighting for human rights or just for political reasons it would be a different matter. Look at Nelson Mandela!!

it depends on how long. i was in for just a weekend, so i don't think that really counts. however, if someone was in for 25 years for murder and got out, i might be a little weary.
