how much money do i need for a weekend in istanbul?

i want to do some basic shopping and sightseeing, some info. on how much eg. bread is, and other comparative things, to the pound, would be really helpful.

1 GBP is= (about) 2,85 TRY

You can buy a normal bread for abt 0,35 TRY. You can eat at a restaurant for abt 5,00 TRY but it depends on the place of course. But you can have a good dinner at a nice place for abt 30-40 TRY. A package of Marlboro cigs are abt 4,5 TRY i think(am not sure). I don't know exactly what you want to do but these are the basics. Depending on yr activities 250-300 TRY ( abt 100 pounds) will be enough for a weekend i think. Have fun.
