Cats do come back, even after a very long time away from home. I had a Burmese cat that went missing for 2 weeks and she just turned up out of the blue, a bit thin but otherwise ok. Register with your local petsearch, you can find contact details in your local Thompson Directories, and try the local police to see if anyone has reported a cat that has been found. Also try local rescue centres, as people do take cats to them if they think they're lost. Also make leaflets with a good description, and a photo if possible, and put in doors around your local neighbourhood - people do notice 'strange' animals that have been lurking in their gardens and they do often get locked in sheds at this time of year!
Sometimes un-neutered cats can wander quite far looking for a mate and some pedigree breeds, such as Burmese and Siamese are prone to wandering off due to their inquisitive nature. Don't give up, some cats can go missing for months on end and still turn up in one piece.
Good luck with your searching.

I'd start looking around the neighborhood, if you have not already. I had a cat that was gone for 2 weeks, I'd given up hope, then out of the blue one day, I hope the door and he comes waltzing in. He was very thin, all I could figure out was that he got locked up in someone's shed or garage. I had another cat, he was gone for 2 months, and same thing, came in like nothing had changed. Only thing is, he left again and never returned. So, it's just hard to tell what happened or is happening.

I would think so. Our cat dissapeared at least twice for 2 weeks at a time.
Cat's do go away to die though but from experience they are very loving the last time they see you.
I wouldn't worry too much, especially if it's young.

My cat was very old and disappered for 6 weeks but we still got him back. Most of the time cats don't like been away from home and will eventually come back. You'll just have to wait a while. Don't get worried, because if he has a tag someone will probably recognise him and bring him back to you. If not then put out posters and pictures of your cat and ask around if anyone's seen him.

Is he fixed? (lol) Because if he isn't, he may be getting some action from a lady cat or few. But, if he is there may be a home around (farms, especially) that he's stealing from or helping out with. He'll come back though because he knows you love him. Have no worries. Almost the same as seeing the kids off to school on their first day.

Well maybe you should set a schedule for him. Keep him inside during the night because thats when he can get seriosuly hurt. In the night lots of stray mean cats are outside , and they like to fight. Feed him and give him water and attention. HE will come back every vight!

male cats sometimes do get the urge to roam, looking for females, mine went twice, once for 2 weeks, and came back really smelly too. Try not to worry too much, just let the cat rescues and places like that know hes missing.

If this is an un-neutered male, you may have lost him for good. They wander off in search of females, and can travel miles, then be unable to get back. Or he could have been hit by traffic and crept away somewhere quiet. I really do hope he comes home safe and well, but as soon as he does, please get him neutered, or you are going to have the hell of not knowing if he is alive or dead over and over until he never comes home again.

Yes, cats sometimes take off for several days. My parents' cat was gone for over a week. Then he came back and ate like a horse and slept for days.
If you're concerned, go look up trees and roofs and such. Perhaps it can't come down.

cats usually like to disapear for a few weeks and go hunting. My old cat went away for 6 months and came back fine. Im sure he will be back soon enough, when he has had enough of catching his own dinner.
