I am officially bosnian, born and living in Germany and speak 4 languages. My american boyfriend, I met in Germany, wants to go back to the US with me in January after only one year of going out together. I would like to know what ways there are, to follow him but without having to marry him after only one year of being together. Would appreciate any help.

Oh wow, so many answers that fast. I actually love him and he loves me. He actually has to convince me to come to the states. (Not everybody wants just a GREEN CARD). I am very happy in Germany. I heard a Fiancee Visa is only valid for 3 months and not 6. My conclusion is though, to marry w/o having kids, so a divorce would not be as hard if I'd want to go back to Germany. Right?

I think for extended stays you need to have a visa. Check with the American Embassy in your country to find out what the exact requirements are. They are a lot stricter on immigration issues since September 11.

You can come for a visit if you have visitor's visa, and you can stay in US for 3 -6 months. If you decide to marry him you can stay in US but you will have to apply for another type of visa and you can apply for citizenship after 3 years of marriage to US citizen. Even if you marry him in Germany you still can apply for US citizenship after 3 years.
There is huge difference between working in Germany and US. Mostly after one year of work you get 5 to maximum 10 work days of vacation. You will not have the same benefits as you have in Germany, mostly no paid sick leave. I can't wait to move back to Europe. Come for a visit but stay in Germany.

Youve gone with him for only a year, wow is this guy a meal ticket or what ? Your lucking out bigtime arent ya. A K-1 visa is the trick, then after you get married. Pop out a few kids and take off on him. Thats usually how it happens

Yes, you will need a fiance visa. But it is only valid for six months. So if you don't get married you will either have to renew it or go back. Contact the US embassy and get the paperwork, the check and approval will take awhile.

Good Luck

You can apply for a fiance visa but it takes several months to process. If you want to go to school then you can apply in the USA and stay as a student until your program is finished which could take several years. If you can find a job in the USA, then you can apply for a permit to stay due to employment.

"while the infants come alongside we reported we are able to strengthen them muslim because of the fact the infants could take the fathers component yet am i able to nonetheless teach them catholic and could they circulate to the two catholic church and a mosque? Can they celebrate in the two religions?" those are questions you may ask your boyfriend - and till you get them settled, any discussions of what the wedding ceremony ceremony could look like are untimely (however I could warn you, i do no longer think of you would be waiting to locate a Catholic priest who will do an interfaith ceremony). faith could properly be an rather massive source of conflict interior of a marriage, extraordinarily while it comprises young infants, till you're the two in contract on the type you the two prefer to look after issues. and you may artwork it out for yourselves, because of the fact your clergy will probable insist which you do issues completely their way, and you'd be united if your prolonged families attempt to rigidity you the way yours is. good success. this is no longer impossible - yet talking as somebody whose very own dating is interfaith and had to circulate by way of multiple those conversations ("No, honey, a christening form of defeats the point of elevating the infants Jewish till they're sufficiently old to decide on"), i'm afraid you are going to choose it.
