You need to realize a couple of things.
Good religion is a good thing... false religions, and where it differs from 'good' religion.. is a bad thing.
"Riots and massive bomb attacks" can be from people acting in violation of their religion, - not because of it.
Humans tend to have the ability to throw rocks, and carry clubs, - they certainly DO NOT have religions needing them and telling them to do this.

You dont jusge a Car because of its driver. An insane driver can scerw up a Mercedes and wreck it up.
There was absolutely no fault with the Mercedes but its driver damaged it coz of his driving...
Similarly dont judge any religion because of its followers, jusge it on the basis of its scriptures, and analyze it as to what does the scripture has to say about the religion.
But what exactly must a religion should be based on???
1) The religion should be based on Monotheism.
There can be only ONE GOD, without any partners. Any organization works fine if and only if there is ONE final Authority, therefore how can the entire Universe that functions with such a precise equlibrium be run by 2 or 3 or more GODs???
2) The religion must not jus be limited to rites and rituals, instead it must guide all sections of mankind, at all ages.
3) The scripture must be 100% compatible with established scientific facts and should not be modified with times. As any book from GOD is time-tested and fail-proof.
Apply alll these principles and you arrive at Islam.

Religion looks good on paper, but it fails miserably in the real world. Human beings are not as altruistic as their religions require them to be. Plus, we humans have a knack for creating religions that oppress us, that build up societal pressures. We can only take so much pressure until we blow. When that steam blows, the results are things such as riots, terrorist attacks, etc.

It's got nothing to do with religion itself,as most religions uphold goodness and turn away from wickedness, but it has everything to do with the people that follow religions.Compare religion to football hooliganism. You have two opposing teams battling to be number one ,but there's only one place, so you fight for it.The same could be said about religion, there can only be one true God, but because people believe in so many different Gods they compete against each other arguing and fighting over whose is the best.Unfortunately that's the human condition...our heads in the clouds and our souls full of fire!

People who follow religions are human beings with free will. Some will use the name of a religion for personal gain rather than for the greater good. Its a shame but thats the way some people are I'm afraid.

Religions may have originated from good purposes but today it is so much misused that there is none that can be followed. All gone equally evil. These rotten tomatoes are just to be buried in deep ditches. Each day breaks with news that prove religions are the root cause of all evils today.

Just that it is supposed to be a good thing.
It is supposed to be a means in which we develope a relationship with Christ and become like Him. It was never ment to be a means by which war and hatred would be encouraged.

Because religous fanatics are a load of fucktards, they're stupid enough to believe in creationism so they're stupid enough to go around killing people.
I didn't mention a specific religion because they're all the same in my eyes.
