Look at the girl you like and say
" Yeah. I think she's real pretty. Does she like me? "
If they say " No. She doesn't. " just say
" That's okay. I still think she's pretty."
You'll at least get a smile from her.
If they say " Yes, she likes you." then say
"Good. Can I call her tonight? "
Keep asking questions about her while you stare at her and smile.

So what if you like anyone else? That by no means makes the feelings for the girl you really like any less. Tell them that she has her good points, but you are much more interested in their friend or at least someone else, if you don't wish to reveal yourself right away. Don't wait too long to tell her, since life happens when you're making other plans....

tell her straight up. either in front of her friends or not. As long as you're not timid about it, you can earn serious bonus points with the girls by being so "brave" as to spill your guts to her in front of them. The girl in question will either be really impressed, really embarrassed, or most likely, a bit of both.
I'm assuming of course the girl isn't someone who will try to shoot down a guy to try to gain the approval of her friends.

Say so. If you feel uncomfortable, say it jokingly, but make sure you look straight at the Girl's eyes, so that she at least will know.
Or, tell the Girl in private. In that case the friend's picking on you will lose the sting.

Say "yes, yes I do." In a calm and confident manner. Make sure you are looking the girl you like in the eyes and grin a little while you answer. She'll eat it up.

Admit that you like to see if she likes you. The longer you secretly admire her without her knowing, the more devastating it will be if you eventually find out she doesn't like you. or she may find someone else first. Let her know!
