They taught it in school, and I was good at it when we had reviews but never retained it and really just can't do it.. I can only write in print. Am I retarded or is this normal?

Other than that printing takes longer to write than cursive, it does not matter if one prints. It is getting more common these days for people to not have "perfect penmanship" since so much of writing is done on computers. Just make sure you have a good, distinctive signature so that it is not easily forged.

Strongly recommend you sue the high school you went too and each and every english teacher. The fact that you went through school and did not learn, but got passed along is the fault of the system. Teachers are not god and this is an example. To go with the trend and say they are overworked and underpaid is a lie if they failed to teach you (and said) they did. They lied by passing you on through the grades. This is deplorable. No promlem with you printing if that is all you can do. Just do your best at it.

Try again in cursive. If you print all the time, people will perceive you as childish. Your handwriting says a lot about you. So, it would behoove you to polish it up a bit.

You do want is comfortable to you. People hardly even write anymore -- the PC has taken over that. Use the script font if you want your letters to me fancy. At the very least I would practice writing your full name in cursive so that it's unique to you.
