Actually, all Navy handles humanitarian missions. My sqaudron flew close air support in Afghanistan and other places as well. And yes, we served in Desert Storm as well. By the way, the Navy isn't really broken down by units unless you serve in one of the EODMU ( Explosive Ordinace Disposal Mobile Unit) teams or Navy Special Warfare (SEAL's)

all of them.. from Combat ships conducting Rescue Ops to to COMFORT and MERCY the two floating hospitals. SeaBee units will go in and rebuild infrastructure and set up water purification plants and electricity generators.
