You can buy a Sony PTZ webcam that your friends can view and control over the internet. Costs about $1000. PTZ stands for Pan, Tilt and Zoom. The camera can also be setup in software to follow your face. You have to have some kind of capture card to use this camera or a video conferencing system.

A cheaper webcam that can the do the PT portion is the Logitech Orbit MP.

You can buy these in Japan. They only cost about $50,000 to $100,000.

They have a new wrinkle too. They invented a device that can digitize and re-create any smell using a mix of chemicals stored in the unit. This way, if your friend farts, you will be able to smell it.

Only another $10,000.

The funny thing about this is I'm not in any way kidding:

Is there "money" to be made from the item you mentioned? If there is no money to be made - that is probably your answer. No one does anything unless they make a lot of the almighty $$$$! That's just the "way it is" in today's society!!!
