Hmm, let's see ...
If a Christian in the US wants to convert to Islam, the government and most people don't care. He's free to believe whatever he wants.
If a Muslim in an Islamic country (Afghanistan, for example) wants to convert to Christianity, the government arrests him and puts him on trial. The local clergy demand that he be killed.
I guess you have your answer.

A perfect example of the western media's portrayal of Muslims. Okay first of all, the name for Islamic Law is Shariah. Countries such as Saudi Arabia and Iran claim to practice Shariah, but that is not true. Shariah emphasizes that people must have the right to practice any religion they want, in other words, religious freedom. These words are in the Qur'an as a matter of fact. For example, Spain used to be a Muslim country, yet the rulers would allow Christians and Jews to live peacefully and practice their religion. The Muslims had the power to kill all other religions, but they did not do so. However, when the Christians came into power, King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella forced the killing of all Muslims and Jews. So techincally, one could say that Iran and Saudi Arabia do not fully practice Shariah.
Now about Christian America. I've lived in Saudi Arabia and seen this first hand. When a white American is stopped by the police, all he has to do is show his American Passport or some sign of him being American, and he will be let go 95% of the time, regardless of what he did. However, a Saudi walking through customs in America will get harrassed like a stray dog. Body checks, bag checks, you name it. I know someone whose five year-old daugther was held in a security booth for 35 minutes because they suspected her Game Boy of containing a bomb.

i agree that in most muslim countries, christians dont have as many freedoms as muslims do in america. but thats a free country these countries arent. and what about what happens in places like Kosovo and palestine? muslims are persecuted. i find it really offensive that people just assume that muslims are the horrible and hat eevryone who's different and all that crap. im a muslim, and very open minded and i live in egypt. christians are definately treated equally. i've also lived in saudi arabia and its true that they dont tolerate any other religion, but thats because its considered a holy place, for muslims ne way. plus, its not a democracy, its a kingdom, so people dont have much say in what goes on there.

Only countries I have seen where non-Muslims can't practice their faiths *in Public* are Saudia Arabia, Iran and Afghanistan when it was under Talibans.
All other Muslim countries provide complete freedom to non-Muslims unless it's against the country's law.

It depends on the country, but in a lot of countries, the answer is no. For example, in Saudi Arabia, Islam is the only religion which may be practiced legally. Therefore, holding a Christian prayer service or even praying privately in your home is illegal there.

No, muslims here would have much more freedom than a christian would in a muslim country, such as iran or syria. christians more or less represent westernization in muslim countries, which muslim countries like iran are against, and do not have as much freedom, much like jews, but a little better. many more christians used to exist in countries such as Iran years ago, as did many jews, now, the population of those in the middle east have dwindled to a much lower amount, as they are not accepted as readily as they used to.

Tough question to answer however based on all the numerous decapitations of non-Muslims in Muslim countries I would think not. But to be fair alot of Muslim counties are becoming more tolerant and really re-evaluating their moral stance.

In muslim countries you are shunned, persecuted or killed. The US is a so called Christian nation and you can be any religion you want to be without getting your head chopped off.

not only no, but hell no.
Christians are chastised until they are forced to leave the country or have their heads cut off. Oh, this is Muslim culture to cut off the heads of Christians. In America thay ask, "have you hugged your child today?" In Muslim countries they ask, "have you taken the head of a Christian today?"
