I have just found out via mammagram, dye, sonogram and biopsy that I have Infiltrating Ductal Cacinoma Clinical Stage1 grade I/III. It is a mass not a tumor 1.5 centemeters and they will remove it. Now, I have to get two oncologists. I have no idea why...they will try seed radiation and Tamoxifen. I am angry and don't want to take the drug and probably will refuse. What happens if I just have the surgery, check out the lymph glands and do the seed radiation and stop. I am alone and don't want this to go on forever. Dying is not so bad as long as it doesn't take years. If you have experience tell me the stories because everyone at the hospital just assumes everyone wants to live. I have already told them there will be no more surgeries, no harmones and no chemo. They think I am just upset...I am not...why can't I just do what I want to do?

Well, you can do what you want to do, after all. But, please understand if people (especially those medical types who have been through it all again and again) think that you are not in the best frame of mind right now to make that type of decision. Is there some reason why you don't want to take Tamoxifil? My mother just had the same type of cancer, had the surgery and then radiation and is now on the Arimidex instead of Tamoxifin. There is no problem with the drug at all. She is having some depression because the treatment part is over and she feels she is not being proactive, but otherwise, she is very healthy now. What if that's the end of it? Why does it have to be a death sentence. The doctor said her chance of reoccurance is only very small, much less than another undiagnosed person's chance of getting it in the first place. You can't be completely alone, can you? There must be someone for you to be connected with. If not, e-mail me. Don't feel completely alone. Give this some time before you make any monumentous decisions that you can't take back, okay?

I would study everything there is to know or known about: Infiltrating Ductal Carcinoma Clinical Stage1 grade I/III.
It is your body, stay in charge.
It is not a cash cow.
You should be able to only receive the treatments that make sense to you and you agree too.
Find out what caused the growth.
What foods, "you are what you eat", have an influence in causing cancer.
Personally, I have a tiny lump in my groin area.
In the 70's, 30 years ago, when they promotet self examination, I found this tiny lump.
I was worried.
Went to the doctor.
He said he did not know what it was.
The only way to know was to have surgery.
From his answers I determent to wait to see if this thing grows any further.
I do know the body does strange things in reaction to the living environment.
Callus are a prime example.
The skin reacts to the stress put on by repetitious acts upon a spot on the skin.
They can grow fast to protect the skin, and can disappear just as quickly.
The same thing can happen with soft tissue.
Any type of body building is an example on how the body can change.
So is obesity.
My guess is, in your case it might be caused by the way your bra fits, presses, squeezes, milk production and its changes, change in size, change in hormone levels, etc.
My lump might have been from the way my equipment was squeezed in to my underwear for many years.
The same size lump is still there after 30 years.
No apparent ill effects.

I suffered from breast cancer last year and the tumor was removed. I was stage two. The tumor was almost 6 centemeters. My doctor just recently told me that he started doing the seed radiation with tamoxifen for estrogen positive patients, I am estrogen negative. I had four months of chemo and two months of radiation every single day. I wish they had the seed radiation last year and I would have done that approach. My doctor old me that the sessions only last one week instead of the regular 33 sessions. Many woman in my support group take Tamoxifen. There is really no side effects with that drug. You are stage one. That is great news. You should do wht your doctor told you. GO fo the seed radiation and take the Tamoxifen. There is no reason NOT to. Why don't you want to take it. I see no reason not to.

Being a x-ray person(wife is too,mammo certified)she's saying type 1 is survivable. You don't state your age. I remember seeing more than a few people not really having a easy death from breast ca. I agree ,death is part of life,but does one have to rush headlong into that final sleep?
