It is something than men do when the are having a sex change. It is going to change you permantly. If you are doing this you will really have to diguss this with the doctor that is prescibing this. It is going to start giving a man atributes of a woman. Some at least. A man usually takes high doses of these prior to having a sex change operation. They will take premarin a medication that females in menopause take only in a much higher dose. Men will be in counselling during this process. I would imagine a gender change itself would have mental effects. That is a question you will have to ask a specialist if it is for you. When a person takes hormones that are not natural for their gender it causes changes. One dose might not, but large doses over time definately will.

You'll grow man boobs and your libido will likely decrease. If memory serves, some of the hair growth pills (like propecia) contain estrogen compounds and they'll have that effect long term.

It's tough to say cause I would think that your body would try to compensate by boosting testosterone. Your body like to be balanced so if you take estrogen pills, testosterone levels may increase.
Also you'll notice that your breast, specifically your nipples, will get sensitve and puffy. You'll also notice that your breast will droop a little because estrogen causes your breast to hold fat and it stores it near the nipples.

No mental effect as far as I know His voice will be a little higher and he will start to to develop breasts. That's what they give men who want to go through gender reassignment.
