I have known people to take temp jobs so they can work when they feel good. You are correct it is hard to function in the world where people just try to crush a bipolar person into a mold that people who are not bipolar fit into fine. Do you go to a psychiatrist or a primary care doc? It is important to see a specialist. Have you thought of going on SSI or SSDI? Just a thought. It is not your fault and sometimes people treat others with mental illness like it is. They do not understand. Have you tried going to a support group locally? There is http://www.dbsalliance.org and http://www.nami.org

Please remember this is not your fault I really feel for you. Please keep trying new medications and go to counselling. They keep comming out with new medications all the time. It is a very fast growing part of the pharmaceutical industry right now. Hopefully there is or will be something that will help you really soon.

I feel for you. Just do your best in life and that is enough. Not all people have to fit in that mold. Everyone is different and everyone is essential and important in their own way in this world. You can find other things to do that work for you.

Also please realize that a great deal of people who are aflicted by bipolar disorder are very intelligent creative people. Look at Ted Turner who made the whole CNN cable news network. The famous artists and musicians of past and present. Jane Pauley. There is an Author Kay Jameson or it might be something with an R. I believe her name is she is a doctor and brilliant and Bipolar. She wrote touched by fire. She is recognized internationally.

my husband is in iraq and they have him on klonipin to aid in combat stress. he tried to come off it and he had trouble controling his temper big time. it helps him to an extent but he is building an immunity to it....

i don't know much else about it. but if you have been on it for longer than two or three months and still seem to be struggling, keep trying. in mental health finding the RIGHT medication at the RIGHT dosage can take a lot of time. in the mean time, try and take on your problem mentally as well....don't give up and i just want to say that i know how much people with such disorders struggle. i hope that you find a solution and enjoy your life...

good luck!

i don't have an answer for you question, but i have a question for you instead..i'm on klonopin for anxiety, i read you shouldn't useit for long periods of time, have you had any problems with it becoming addictive or building up a tolerence to it? i try to only take it when i have to instead of every day. As for your problem the only thing i can come up with, is try to find a job that is understanding.. it's difficult, but i found one that is tolerant of my anxiety problems.Been there 5 years now. Best of Luck, hope everything works out for you.

Sad to hear your situation. It should never being made a meal out of it. Instead, you should be patient and relax. Getting frustrated easily doesn't help any cause. If you want to gain financial stability, you can drop me an email to urea74@yahoo.com.sg to see how it goes.
Good luck.
