SUNNI + SHIA ARE TYPES OF MUSLIMS

SUNNI believe in following the Sunnah of the prophet Mohammed..

SHIA believe in the 12 Imams(pbuh)

The Sunni Shia split happened, over the succession after the death of Mohammed (pbuh) because Sunni believed it should be Abu Bakr, and Shia that it should be the prophet Mohammed's grandson Hussein..

And it has continued to this day (but whilst usually there is no fighting..this has been provoked by American divide plus conquer policies..

Most Shia live in Iran (and some in Afghanistan , Uzbekistan, UAE, Lebanon, and Albania, and parts of Iraq especially around Karbala etc which is a holy city and shrine of Imam Hussein)

KURDS ARE A NATION/ETHNIC GROUP..who live the area in Northern Iraq, Southern Turkey, Western Iran, and Eastern Syria..
They are not a religion..Most Kurds tend to be Muslim.(but not fanatical).
It is equally split between Shia and Sunni..There are of course even Christian Kurds..)
Kurds are the largest ethnic nation without a country and the most famous Kurd is perhaps Saladin..
Kurds call the area they live in Kurdistan

Sunni and shia's are all muslims The differences between sunni and shia arise mostly after the death of the prophet Muhammad (SAW). Its mostly political in nature.. ie who was to then lead the muslims. The difference are minor theologically. Specifically shia's contend that the caliphate (ruler) should be someone from the descendant of the prophet throught her daughter Fatma. Sunni contend that whoever is best for the job. Shia's attribute more significance to the lineage of the prophet.

Sunni comprise approx 85% of the muslim and shia's are the 14% where 1% are other sect..

Kurds are mostly people indigenous to kurdistan. Somebody can be a kurd and not a muslim.But most of them are muslim

Prophet Muhammed (SAW) said that there will be around 70 different sects before the judgement day.. and 69 of them will go to hell and just 1 will go to HEAVEN, the one which will follow the Prophet and his commandments!

Nowadays we can see Sunni, Shiite, Kurds, Ahmedis, Goheris, Barelwis etc etc.... Sunnis and/or Wahabis make up around 80% of Muslim population and they truly follow the Prophets Commandments..... However other sects follow some additional things..... Hezbollah is Shiite Group.

Iran = 90% Shiite
Iraq= 60 % Shiite

Saudi Arabia= 99% Sunni
Turkey = 99% Sunni
Pakistan =80% Sunni
Tunisia= 98% Sunni

thats why most sunnis or shiites dont want to tell their identity and just likes them to be called as "MUSLIMS"!

The Sunni Shiite and Kurds I would think all have different views on Islam. I'd say its comparable to how Christianity has been broken down into Catholics, Presbyterians, Baptists etc. The extremists, Hmmm, I unno. I'd say they can come from any one of the branches. All religions have extremists. It all depends no what country you are hearing about, as those branches are very much also kinda of regionally spread out.

Islam all over the world They agree about the oneness of God They follow the same book - Quran(same words and letters all over the world). They follow the same prophet Muhammad . offer their prayers five time a day. fast in the month of Ramadan.Give charity (Zakat) which is the poor-due on the wealth of the rich go for hajj, pilgrimage to Mecca ...but they may have differnt opinions not on the basics

Islam totally forbids the terrorist acts that are carried out by some misguided people. It should be remembered that all religions have cults and misguided followers, so it is their teachings that should be looked at, not the actions of a few individuals.let us spread peace ,understanding and forgiveness .If you like to have friendly Chat IM (Whisper Me) http://www.islamdoor.com

All of them consider themselves muslim and this is true. But this doesn't mean they're all in the right path. There's only one Islam and the rightest to follow it are those who follow exactly Quran and tradition of Prophet Muhammed (a.s.)
There's no radical Islam and no moderative one, There's just Islam. The way people understand Islam depends on their educational and cultural level.
Real extremists come from the lack of knowledge of what is right and wrong, from the aim to exploit any religion to achieve their objectives.

All Muslims, but different sects. If I am not wrong, Kurds and Shias are one and the same.

Basics are same but there was a dispute on who will be prophet's seccessor after his death.

Sunnis believe that the oldest with most knowledge should lead the Muslims and Shias believe, it should be someone from Muhammed's blood.
Kurds and Shias are same.
