i work in trauma icu at a local hospital and see the benefits of blood donators everyday....
i would donate if i was able to but the minimum weight requirement is 110 lbs and i'm only 91 so i'm not allowed and i have iron deficiency anemia which i lose alot of blood from that also doesn't allow me to..
but i am an organ donor and i do my best to save lives every day that i work so i feel i make up for not being able to donate....
people don't realize how important it is TO donate if able to...most of my patients receive blood due to being in car accidents, being assaulted or having really bad injuries. there are several components to blood and just one donor can save the lives of several people.

Once every 8 weeks and if i could donate more i would. IT'S funny that 80% of people say it is a good thing to donate blood but only 20% of them do donate, it's blood i don't need so why not.

Yes, i do.. I have the most common blood type, but I don't carry the cold virus that 96 % of adults carry... Which makes mine very uncommon... I was contacted by a local children's hospital after I donated blood thru Hoxworth blood center... After they explained why the wanted mine, I have a set schedule with the hospital...

I do donate, because I don't think there shouldn't be any reason not to, unless you have medical issues. Of course, I know of some friends who have phobia. The way I see it giving blood is almost like oxygen, if you can save a life... why not. My 2 cents.

I would if I could. I weigh enough, I'm just not old enough. I have O negative which is the universal doner so it would be benificial to people in need of blood if I was able to donate. When I get older, I will.

I don't do it. The real solution will be to invent artificial blood. Everything else is just prolonging the misery. Like using wheelchairs instead of solving the problem by neural probes.

It makes me very queezy and I am afraid I will vomit or pass out. That is why I do not give blood. Another is that I am a very common blood type. I voluteer at blood banks when I am asked. So, I think I do my part.
