They de-energized the power lines that feed our home so that they could replace a transformer down the street . It looks like they put splices, or fuse like things, in the hot lines just before our drop line. They replaced the de-energized transformer, but didn't come back to do anything to "fix" what they had done to de-energize the lines in the first place. Why didn't they have to do anything to energize the lines, from where they "cut" the power ?

They have Fuses at the transformers and master fuses or disconects located at verious locations that may control 1-300 transformers or so many miles of line. Sometimes they have remote/radio controled disconects.
