Pedicures work somewhat in the very short term but the thick skin that then has deep painful cracks that bleed comes back. Various creams, lotions, ointments with socks on do no good.

sand off the thick skin with sand paper or pumice stone until it is thin. if the cracks are due to athletes foot put athlete's foot creme on it. if the cracks are just wounds, put neosporin on it. if you have super dry skin, smear zinc oxide creme on it heavily before bed, and put socks on, it will be magically soft moist skin in the morning

Use a pumice stone and then wear socks to bed after you slather on bag balm. It was made for cows, but is now marketed for people and it works great on really dry, cracked skin
