I want to cut my hair to shoulder length and give it to a charity that makes wigs for cancer (or alopecia in general) patients. But the length I want to cut off isn't long enough for Locks of Love's requirements. Does anybody know of any other charities that accept hair?

Ask you nearest hair salon where you can find a " Locks of Love" place. If they don't know, call your local cancer research place and ask them. The pediatricians for oncology (children's cancer docs) will probably know best. I do the same thing every year because my hair grows really fast. It's a wonderful thing to do. Most of the time, you can find this. It might be called something different in your area. Just call around and ask. Good luck hun!

Call round and ask salon's. I do know that fee Cutters & Hair Cuttery does it. They will cut your hair, save it in a bag or envelope, and then mail it off to be made into a wig for cancer patients. However you need to have at least 6" cut to ensure that it to be donated.

Talk to some people at supercuts. A few years ago i heard an ad on the radio that you can donate the hair you cut. Not sure if their is a length requirement but you should call and ask.

Why don't you wait a little longer and then donate to Locks of Love? Ask your hairdresser, as Locks is the only one I am aware
