i just want to know how other people feel about it. my friend is muslim and he joined about 2 weeks ago.

Yes there are Muslims in the United States Armed Forces. Just because someone is a Muslim does not mean that they are a terrorist or support the terrorist cause. Being a Muslim is a way of life and believing. I am not a Muslim but have friends who are and they are my best friends. We as a nation need to stop tagging everyone who is a Muslim as a terrorist. We need support the Muslims who are fighting against the stereotype that is so wrongfully being bestowed upon them by American and the World.

I'm not Muslim nor in the US military. But I have met people in the military who are Muslim. I have no idea why they joined. I think they should do whatever makes them happy.

Being Muslim doesn't automatically exclude anyone from being in the US Military. It just shows that religion isn't the main cause of the problems in the middle east.

I have 4 members of my family (who are Muslim) serving in the military. Every generation of my family since 1920 has served in the US military. I do not agree with what the American government has asked them to fight for, but am proud of them nonetheless. I am in contact with all of them and from what I understand, not many of their fellow soldiers agree with the war in Iraq and have extreme guilt over what they do on a daily basis. Why would you ask "why would they join?" Are you trying to insinuate they are not suitable since they are Muslim to serve in the US Armed forces?

Yes theres a lot. Theres also wiccans and all different kinds of religions in the US Military.

About 2% of the U.S. Army are Muslim.
I think this shows that one's religious beliefs do not make one a terrorist. These soldiers are there to defend our country.

yes there are many Muslims in the US Military....they're just like anyone else, only Muslim; just as there are Jews in the military and they're just like everyone else, only Jewish.
