Pride FC because the fighters are stronger, faster, better. Look at some of the UFC fighters (recently) that went into Pride they got killed. Chuck Lidell is champion at his division and he went to Pride and got killed by Qunton Jackson. I heard he had to go to the hospital for a long time after that fight. Now Wanderlia "The axe Murderer" will be coming to UFC to fight Chuck we will see what happens. I think with Wanderlia's technique and style he can really put a great fight for Chuck. Take the champion of any division of UFC against pride and they would get killed by the champions of Pride. Gomi would kill any of their light weights. Fedor with his monster hands will kill all of their heavy weights. Nugerara would submit all of their fighters. Pride has way more exciting, experienced, better fighters.

I FORGOT TO MENTION....The UFC rules blows..
Come on elbows to the face!!! Man that can open up some nasty cuts we saw that happen in last UFC...The guy was in a POOL of blood. I am not no wimp or MMA hater but that is bad for the sport. We need to increase fans not decrease. That cage is horrible for those not used to the groud and pound game. You cannot do that in Pride FC. Once your body is out of the ring the fight is restarted on the feet. If you are squeezed up against the ropes while on the ground the fight is restarted at the center of the ring. That is very fair. Cannot forget to mention you can have that nice Silva style soccer kicks you cannot have in UFC. I love soccer kicks...lol... In UFC the judges are horrible. We all know BJ Penn beat the canadian St. Pier. We all know Forest beat Tito (close one). In UFC couple of take downs and ground and pound moves then you got the fight. The Pride scoring is better. It is based on the effort made to finish the fight by KO or submission (don't lay and pray), damage to the opponent, standing combinations & ground control, and aggressivenes. Bushido (branch of Pride) they hate people when people lay and pray and they restart the fight faster than UFC... UFC has some major competition and Pride just needs a realty TV show and it will blow away UFC...no doubt.

Well, you have a cage in the UFC and a ring in Pride. This is a major difference. Don't listen to the people who only mention people going from the UFC to Pride as a representative. Wanderlei got beat by Vitor Belfort and Tito Ortiz (both people Chuck dominated) so that is a pointless argument. Coleman lost to Pete WIlliams in the UFC and then won the GP in Pride. Poeple forget that Chuck knocked out Alistair and Metzger. Alistair recently put a beating on a Pride Heavy weight, and Metzger was having a good fight against Wandy until Wandy gave him a flagrant head butt. And if you say that Kharitonov was hurt during that fight with Alistair well so was Chuck against Rampage. So here is the answer, it's a preference more than anything. Pride's heavyweight division is spectacular, Fedor is unstoppable and Big Nog is amazing! I like both and follow both. No one knows who has the best fighters until they fight each other. Oh and in response to the Gomi claim, there is a man named BJ Penn who can drop 20 pounds, beat Gomi down then put on 30 pounds to beat Hendo the next day.

Forgot to mention! Pride rules vs. UFC. Yeah elbows are allowed, but soccer kicks on a downed opponent????? H-e-l-l-o. I don't think there is nothing wrong with the rules, they are constantly evolving. But the first poster needs to change his logic with the brutal use of elbows allowed in the UFC. I like the difference, which is why I watch both.

I think UFC has some great fighters but Pride has a lot of international fighters which leads to more competition and thats always a good thing. I prefer the UFC because of the cage. I do not like the ring format.

John R is absolutely right - the first poster needs a clue about fighting styles. I like both.. but to answer your question properly.

Heavy Weights = Pride
Light HW = UFC
Welter Weights = UFC
Light Weights = Pride

I'd rather watch Pride for skill value, but I love UFC cause the punishment on a downed opponent is soo much greater and we all know... that's what happens in a real fight.

The UFC heavyweights are a joke. Pride heavyweights rock.

UFC Lightheavys would get killed by the Pride fighters in the midleweight division, but UFC middleweights would give stiff competition for the Pride middleweights.

UFC welterweights would kill the PRIDE welterweights.

The only lightweights in UFC that could stand up to Gomi is Hermes Franca and Jens Pulver, if he works on his standup.

I think that the better fighters are whoever is in better condition at the time of the fight. Everyone has their off-days, and $#!+ happens. Anyone who watches MMA knows this. But the Liddell / Silva stare-down at the last UFC left a very bad taste in my mouth. I didn't want to see this sport go down the "WWE" path.
