I was at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk a couple weeks ago and saw they were selling Deep Fried Oreos. With the Oreos came two little cups of (I'm guessing) sauce. I didn't get to ask what the sauce was so now I am. What sauces come with Deep Fried Oreos? Has anyone tried them? Did you like them??

Deep Fried Oreos
Ok, I knew this probably isn't the healthiest recipe, but they are so good and so easy. Eat in moderation and it will lower the guilt and be better for your health. At the Texas State fair the Oreos where served with Either Chocolate sauce ,Milk or Whipped Cream

Deep Fried Oreos

Ingredients
1 cup buttermilk pancake mix
3/4 cup ice water
1 quart vegetable oil
14 Oreo cookies
2 tablespoons confectioners sugar

Preparation:
1. Freeze cookies for at least 3 hours.
2. In a heavy-gauge 3-quart sauce pot or deep fryer heat oil to 350° F.
3. While oil is heating, set up a sheet pan or large plate with paper towels for draining.
4. In a medium-sized mixing bowl stir water into buttermilk pancake mix with a wooden spoon until thoroughly combined and smooth. Dip each cookie, one at a time, into batter making a thin coat completely around the cookie. Place coated cookie carefully into hot oil. Repeat for each cookie. Fry on both sides, turning over once until golden brown.
5. Remove fried cookie from hot oil with metal tongs and drain on paper towels. Dust with confectioners sugar.
6. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes:
Get creative when it comes to dipping sauces. Chocolate syrup, caramel, peanut butter, maple syrup, fruit sauce. The options are endless.

Episode: Fun Fried Foods

1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 large egg, lightly beaten
3/4 cup milk
Vegetable oil, for frying
20 to 25 cream filled chocolate sandwich cookies (recommended: Oreos)
Confectioners' sugar, for garnish

Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt together in a large bowl. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and the milk. Combine the milk mixture with the flour mixture, stirring just until well blended.
In a medium, heavy-bottomed saucepan, add enough oil to come 1/3 of the way up the sides of the pan, or about 1 1/2 inches deep. Heat oil to 360 degrees F. Dip cookies in batter and carefully place in hot oil. Fry until batter is golden, about 2 minutes. Turn cookies and fry for 1 more minute. Remove and place cookies on a paper towel-lined plate. Dust with confectioners' sugar and serve immediately.
