Unless you are really moving slow stick to the middle lane. You aren't blocking those getting on the highway by moving too fast in the right lane and those who want to move quicker can pass you in the "fast lane". It sounds like you are a considerate driver, so you'll be fine. Have a safe trip!

the extreme right lane (if more than 2 lanes each way) is for getting on and off of the highway. The extreme left lane is for passing only. (people think it is for just driving, but no). If you are on a 2 lane highway each way, then drive in the right lane unless passing. You must drive at least the minimum speed limit (and there always is one on a highway), or you can actually get a ticket for going too slow. Try not to drive in rush hour time periods as road rage is higher then.

People are not so sweet to out of towners either for some reason, even though if you see an out of state plate you should be extra forgiving as they could be lost! I figure there is a reason for the slowness so I don't get bent out of shape, but I do see it in others occasionally.

If you're a good person who drives the speed limit, my suggestion would be the right lane. If you try to drive the speed limit in the left lane, those of us with heavy driving feet will say nasty things about you and try to squish you or force you out of our way. If you have three lanes, the middle is probably the safest.

I would recommend driving in the right lane, especially if you're going under the speed limit. If you are driving in the middle of the freeway going under the speedlimit and people are starting to swerve around you, you better pull into the right lane before people start getting really mad.

Good idea to use the middle lane in unfamilar areas because you will be able to watch for signs and then move carefully to the left or right lanes. If you are driving too slowly, definitely use the extreme right lane.

That sounds great, but try to keep an eye on your mirrors and if people are trying to pass get in the right lane, but yeah you sound like a good driver keep it up.

use the right lane as much as possible. if there are highway entrances to the highway in a city or near the highway use the middle lane but stay in the right as much as possible.
