I have perused this site before deciding to join in and the drama seems intense. What is here, a breast and bottle no mans land here? Some sort of "mommy battlefield"? Is this a good place to ask any questions without facing judgement?

in my honest opinion ::::
people have to be mean and press what they did as being right and right for everyone . why ? because noone wants to be wrong . if they can press their opinion and find some sort of gratification when others agree with them it makes them feel better and justifies the choices they made .
noone wants to be called a bad mom or find they misjudged some choice they made when raising their kids . and people these days are just plain rude , self centered , and just honestly ignorant . just because bottle feeding was right for you , dont criticise my choice of breast feeding , and if while breast feeding if i chose to give my child a bottle for what ever reason , that is my choice , it wont kill my child , but if i need suggestions feel free to suggest how to introduce that bottle , not jump up on your soap box and become beligerant about bottles being the sorce or eturnal damnation !
my only bottle quirk is when a parent doesnt realize the damage a bottle does when a child of 3 or 4 is still taking it . same with a binky . BUT , my quirk is the fact a bottle can ruin a child teeth at that age , and a binky and bottle can delay speach if the child has it in their mouths when talking. to me that is educational to mention these not judgemental
my advice is to not pay any mind to people who are being jerks . . if you have a question ask , along with the stupid or agressive replies you will get some good ones too .
good luck .... OH and check your spelling too sometimes if you accidently spell something wrong people people start acting primitive and go on a head hunt because you mistyped something or spelled something wrong .

Personally I think its a shame that any kind of harhness or nastiness has to happen at all! As adults surely we have all learnt how to share our opinions, ideas, tips etc without making someone else feel like they are unworthy of their child?
To judge someone as a bad parent is purely by perception, I believe I am a very good mum to my four children, who range from 17 years to 22 months....but another mum may think i'm wrong about much stuff....but that's ok isnt it? So long as she respects my place in their lives?
Besides, no one has the right to judge another unless they are perfect themselves and if they were perfect then they'd not be on this earth anymore!
I'm afraid if anyone slammed me for my parenting i'd just take it on the chin and see it as their opinion, nothing more.
I have more important things to be concerned with than someone thinking i'm a good mum or not.

Well, many mothers have their own opinion about parenting. They are not open to advice- not really. Nothing will change their mind, and believe that their "methods" are the best, and every mother should follow them. The problem is that almost every mother feels this way, which is unfortunate, because we can all learn from each other. Every child is different because every parent is different.

we mommies are very defensive when it comes to our children. i try not to be too judgmental. but not all women are fit to be mothers. just like not all men are fit to be fathers. we all have different views on how children should be raised and that will tend to cause a little conflict. we aren't all bad. at least not all of the time. :)

Man, your not kidding!!
I don't even touch these questions anymore cause most don't really want a sincere reply, or you get slammed by people who act like Super-Mommy!!!!
It's not even worth the aggravation!!!!
