Arturo Gatti lost the fight in his own backyard on last Saturday to Carlos Baldomir. He actually lost in the 9th round, not the 6th, after tasting the canvas. Yes, Baldomir put Gatti down. It was a pretty entertaining fight. It appears to me that Baldomir is a boxer who relishes the opportunity to fight standout boxers. Who took that punk Zab Judah out, and, now he probably just retired Mr Gatti. Gatti admitted that he figured the fight would be a slugfest, which at times it was, the only problem is that Baldomir did most of the slugging, and, appeared stronger. Gatti did okay in the middle rounds, but, the start and the finish belonged to Baldomir.

looked good early but slowed down
hurt his right arm in about the 8th I think, maybe earlier
got nailed in it good

Gatti lost, he doesn't seem to have the luck in Welter, if he wants to keep fighting he would probably have to do it in a lighter division
